The reason club's use colours outside their traditional colour schemes in training kits is so that they are different from match-day kits. There are several reasons for this but I think the main reason is for merchandising reasons - able to sell two different kits (i.e. match day and training) rather than just the one.
Anyway, Footscray has chosen navy because it is different to their match day blue but it still remains blue enough for it to seem 'Footscray'... I think...

Does anyone have a list of all the marketing mottos for this year? They're usually hash tags. Last year, the Dockers had "Let's Go Freo" and now it's "Own The Moment." Which is something a few of our guys didn't do...
