All these years of playing in cold weather outdoors suddenly theres an issue, refs aren't aware when to check psi of balls?

C'mon man! ausbacker
Having never played football in Boston, I don't know how the football reacts to cold weather GG. Personally, I think it's one of those things almost every team does except the Patriots, surprise surprise, have been called out on it as their opponent simply wasn't good enough to beat them.

As mentioned, I'm letting it develop further or concrete evidence of impropriety is shown. If you recall, I did the same with Peterson and Rice. If guilty, I have no issue with sanctions.

Well obviously we shall wait and see what develops further before making bigger statements. Knowing Goodell and kraft shower together in hundred dollars bills, probably not much beyond a slap of the wrist.

Who is going to believe people deflate footballs before a game.....

It's a tricky one. This is the reason why there needs to be an impartial arbitrator given Kraft came out and publicly supported Goodell's rule on TV back during the Rice/Peterson fiascos. Look, if the Patriots have indeed cheated, I'll be disappointed and the team should be punished. It's ****ing annoying because they are that damn good that rubbish, minute issues like this sully their brilliance and take away from the shellacking they gave the Colts.

True enough, but only once. If it's as widespread as it's being made to sound then surely every ball was suspect.

I think this is the sort of thing that the NFL need to control, meaning they have a crew responsible for the balls up to kickoff and then post match. Like parc ferme in F1 don't allow the teams any chance to interfere with the balls before kick off. If it's done during the match that's another issue entirely and the domain of the officials on match day.

11 of 12 balls under inflated.... Per espn league source." Release the hounds." We need something to talk about for 2 weeks....

This will inspire the lowest ends of NFL fandom, patriot hating nation, to preach more bs and consider themselves worthy of throwing any accusations they feel apply right up until the SB. Then if we happen to win, will apply tainted labels to any future success like they already do. The sad reality for them all is this. If the referees didn't notice the balls being inconsistent during the game which they didn't then I'm going to put this in the bs category.

Or you can believe this.....

It's so clearly obvious the patriots have cheated their way to victory for the colts game.. wait no the last 13 years. I mean Tom Brady sux bb sux the whole team sux and in order to establish any victories at all clearly the only answer is they cheated! Right!?

Sometimes I honestly think half the people who sit back and criticize the pats for cheating havent seen a pats game.. ever, because honestly I'm not sure how anyone who actually saw the last game for example could sit back and even accept the notion that these balls had any impact on anything. Inflated deflated or otherwise on the scoreboard. We could have given luck a 3 TD head start and we still would've won by 3 scores. It's a bs talking point that we seemingly can't not have after a patriots playoff win and it's a pretty crappy one at that. Spygate was way better tbh.

At the start of the game remember how it took awhile for the Colt Punter to kick off? and the Refs were checking the Balls? Then there been instances during the game you can see Colts Players looking at the ball and shaking their heads?

Thing about all this is the Pats were heavy favourites in the AFC Championship and didn't really need an extra edge. To get nabbed for bending the rules in a game where they seemed to already have a matchup advantage seems an unnecessary risk.

Lot of blame to go round but none for your own organisation? Laughable. Is it really that hard to follow the rules?

Excuse my ignorance but why didn't the officials pick this up in the game?
Interesting question given that the officiating crew handles the ball during the start/conclusion of every play. The rule states that if the officiating crew notices something different about the balls they should then use the opposing teams balls.
Even more interesting that they couldn't tell the difference between the Colts and Patriots balls through the duration of the game, which given the claims of the correct pressures one would imagine there was a noticeable difference.
