Re: New fan help me chose my team

I think he means the San Diego Chargers, not the Padres. It would be fairly stupid to be a Dodgers and Padres fan as they both play in the NL West.

If you're choosing an NFL team, check out the sticky thread called New to the NFL, it has a whole heap of discussion about how teams play, what they stand for, history etc.

Just because you're an LA fan, doesnt mean you have to choose someone in California in the NFL. My "Big 4" sport teams represent every region of the USA.

Re: New fan help me chose my team

Hey people I have finally decided to start watching the NFL, seeing I fully understand the rules now :p only took about 3 years...

So can you guys help me pick a team? Im looking for a team that isnt hated by everyone, nor do I want a shit team. I would like to support a team that are similar in ranking to Tottenham or Everton in the EPL not good enough to be a big team but to good to be an average team.

Also id like to support a team that is exciting to watch.

1 team I dont want to support is Miami out of my pure hatered for them.

Re: New fan help me chose my team

Been watching some highlights of the Jets 09/10 season highlights on youtube, and I think im gonna stick with them :)

Time to do some research now.

Mark Sanchez looks to be a good player, and he only played in his first season? correct me if im wrong.

Yep, a rookie, but I wouldn't say he had a good season for a QB. Acceptable for a rookie, had a good playoff series.

Re: New fan help me chose my team

Id rather support a team that isnt very successful then a team that is always expected to be sucessful because the feeling of success so much better when it isnt expected ;)

inb4 Manchester United. I was raised to support them ;)

Every team goes thru it's peaks.. over the years.. most fall short continually but it's more about the journey/ & hopefully staying in the play-off hunt... but on the flipside, the reigning Supabah Champs, the New Orleans Saints, have bucked that tradition.. they've had a MASSIVE season (after missing play-offs two years running) and finished it off in style by winning their First Lombardi trophy on their first attempt (trip) as underdogs mind you. If you really to practise what you preach (per se) then stay away from the J-E-T-S... they're expected to be 'better' than last season after reaching the conf championship game.

EPL/ many Euro leagues are flawed leagues (no salary cap) so wanting to embrace a winner is a no-brainer there.. can't compare apples with oranges. NFL is far more competitive & unpredictable.

And considering to follow an NFL team is more about embracing the potential.. knowing & watching new things will help you pick your team... I know it took me over 7 years to arrive at my choice. And I've been a Steeler fan since 1989.

How do you try to convince someone to give the Chiefs a go?

This was all I could come up with...http://www.kcchiefs.com/cheerleaders/squad-2010-2011.html

Tough going there 11sjw. Babes look nice but the reality of not winning enough is the real factor.

But potential is LOADED!!

Considering that some (a fair majority of sports fans) associate with relative colour favouritism, the Chiefs are one of only two clubs who wear a predominate RED helmet. As there is a wider group of Man Utd, Arsenal & Liverpool fan base out there, can't forget the Ferrari admirer's either.. I think the CHIEFS have a strong chance to reap the RED coloured market than most... just establishing consistency when it comes to winning campaigns remains the only hurdle. Winning 10 games total in the last 3 seasons will wear potential fans out. 2003 was the last time the Chiefs claimed an NFL division (from the last 12 seasons).

SOS to Uncle Marty perhaps?

Hey guys, pretty new here although I know a few of the guys that play madden over at MB.

I'm gonna follow the Panthers for the next few seasons. I like a team with a strong run game and I am keen to see how the passing game (Jimmy Clausen) progresses for the Panthers this year. Not sure about that Edwards guy, the QB come WR come returner.

I will also follow the Chiefs closely as I think Matt is due to perform. Dexter McCluster and Eric Berry are gonna be good to watch too.

I've just chosen the Tennessee Titans, I hate GOD. Good choice or bad choice? Can someone give me 3 players to follow from my newly chosen team so I keep an interest, thanks.

Good exciting team on the RISE!!

Here's the Three Specials!!

Explosive lil' dynamo RB Chris Johnson... very stiff not to claim NFL MVP last season

QB Vince Young.. Dangerous on his feet and with his slingshot throws..

WR Kenny Britt... can be quite dynamic and will be the main focal receiver for the Titans this season.

Here's an exciting finish last season that saw the Titans needing a TOUCHDOWN in the last 2.40m starting from their own 1 yard line to defeat the NFC West Champs, Arizona Cardinals. What a Dramatic finish!!
