in a stunning turn around, the much maligned former Lions CEO Michael Bowers has returned to the club, having been appointed by the Brisbane Board to the role of Senior Coach, less than 48 hours after Michael Voss relinquished the coaching position. Bowers is reported by unnamed sources as stating that he was delighted to return to the club and in his role as senior coach he was looking forward to announcing some big name signings in coming days. Bowers was also believed to be disappointed with his final months at the Lions when in the CEO position because he was on the verge of implementing a raft of what have been described as "revolutionary developments" in the evolution of the Brisbane Lions brand, building on the universally supported and highly successful changes to the Lion's guernsey.
Bowers stated that he was delighted to return to the club and in his role as senior coach he was looking forward to announcing some big name signings in coming days.
Apparently Bowers is looking to sign Simon The Likeable. He is reported to be throwing a 5 year deal reportedly valued at 3 million dollars. Currently negotiating a trade deal with K.A.O.S.
Bowers saw some market research saying focus group members like people who smile.
So he is going to recruit players on the basis of their smileyness.
Smiling players = more members. This plan can not fail!
We have Simon Black, but Bowers is looking at moving him on next season to make room in our salary cap for his new acquisitions.
He looks to be enjoying coaching this year. Good to see.
His job is getting safer and safer after these hard fought losses.
You won't here a peep out of the media for quite a while
The Truth is nasty.
Saint's are a rabble and people are getting carried away thinking we have prooved something.Voss can't coach and Lions on target to have there worst start since the spoon year in 1998.They won there first game in Rnd 6 that year.We face Richmond in Rnd 6 this year which happens to be next weekend and being one of our bogey sides I guess we in for another terrible round.
I had high hopes but we could be 2.12 by round 14.Where does the buck stop for Michael Voss and his recruiting blunders if this does take place ?
