Oh...ok...I didn't realise the existing NFL Apple TV app didn't give you the games if you subscribed. More fool me.

Was planning to buy a Game Pass for the upcoming season, but if the existing Apple TV doesn't do it then I shall wait for the app that does.

Yeah, no, even worse is that the Apple TV app is really only NFL Network (which Gamepass users already pay for) and premium news (which Gamepass users should already get)... and yet they want to charge you again over and above what you pay for Gamepass. That's friggen outrageous IMO.

The other change they desperately need to make is the ability to log in on 2 devices. I understand why this is in place - but I don't think it's unreasonable that people be able to watch a game as well as Redzone at the same time. I had ESPN last season and was able to do that anyway, but it's besides the point. You're paying for a service that, while excellent, is in no way optimised for the best user experience given these limitations. (If/when I move to Melbourne I don't anticipate getting Foxtel again til next March for the AFL/NRL/A-League finals, so I'm not going to have ESPN.)

Surely if it is logged from the same IP address they should allow you to do it.

How do those of you in Melbourne go using Gamepass on an ADSL 2+ connection?

I had to email and cancel the auto-renewal over the weekend - this coming weekend I go to Melbourne to finally try and find some rental accommodation down there, and I don't think I'm going to be able to consider NBN to be an essential trait (looking with a dog is already a big enough pain in the arse).

Put your address in and the map will give you a idea of what speed you will get. I was in yellow and occasionally had trouble during peak hour getting full bitrate.

Inexplicably, it doesn't. There is the NFL Now app, which is nice and has all the NFL content. But it doesn't have Gamepass games.

I suspect that will change pretty soon. MLB, NHL, and NBA are already there.

Of course, the iPad/iPhone app can be AirPlayed to the Apple TV, but I find the web feed from the computer (MacOS X can also be AirPlayed) looks much higher resolution on the TV.

Honestly, I'll be shocked if the NFL app on Apple TV isn't updated with Gamepass support this season. But you never know.

I know GamePass is definitely in scope for Apple TV for the US Domestic market and am almost positive it will be the same for International. I'll need to check at work later in the week when I'm back in the LA Office.

We are looking at having feature/content parity across all platforms this year as we are aware that for various reasons the product content offerings were all over the place in prior years. In the connected TV/game console space we have some limitations or structural challenges in how we build on each of the platforms, but we want a similar (if not the same) experience for fans across all devices.

Interesting. Yeah, the US domestic market gets "Game Rewind", because they are expected to get live games through other providers/pray they aren't blacked out. We get "Gamepass".

Apart from the timezone issue, watching American football is way better in Australia - you can pick any team you want and you'll always be "out-of-market" :)

Game Rewind is pretty cool - I like the 30 minute condensed versions of games for non-Steeler games I don't get a chance to watch live. We're reducing the holdback time on game availability this season so it's essentially available online within minutes of the game ending, rather than waiting until the end of the day.

I'll be cutting our cable service at home so will be watching games from the office this season, or online from home and using Game Rewind a lot more. The wife will be happy about that :)

Just trying to help grow the game a little back home. I think the NFL hasn't done enough with the Australian market and captivated fans like they have in the UK market. What they've managed to do there is astounding. If we can accomplish half of what they've done in the UK in Australia, it'll be huge.

The NY office is pretty sweet - I'm here for meetings re: Superbowl 50 events. No sign of the commish yet, but I'm hoping to say hello (no bear hugs) before I leave to head back to LA.

I hope GG didn't find you when you were holidaying in Australia and inject you with poison with the plan for you to transmit it to Goodell

Anyone else having issues with Firefox?

Looking at renewing today and I can't even get the Gamepass page to open once I get past the NFL home page.
you have to reinstall a fresh new copy of firefox. The nightly updates cause a problem with gamepass, and other video streaming.
so just find the latest firefox install download and install it.

I find it's just easier to use another browser. The first year I had Gamepass and was streaming from my laptop I was never able to stream NFL Network. After about 4 months of back and forth with nfl.com, I figured it out myself - the problem was Firefox.

I use Airplay from my phone now more often than not, it gives a better picture than streaming from the laptop - but when I do use my laptop, Chrome and Safari both work fine.

Just confirmed with the folks here that GamePass is slated for inclusion within Apple TV for International fans.

Awesome news.

Just need to be able to use two devices (one game on AppleTV while watching RedZone on the iPad) and it will be complete.

Interesting to note:

I got the auto-renewal warning email some time ago and finally got around to looking at it. Says I'll autorenew for AUD $165. However the new price for GamePass appears to be $255 in (I'm guessing, since there's no indication) USD.

When I went to disable autorenewal, the fine print with the checkbox says "Yes, I agree to subscribe for auto-renewal billing as outlined in the Terms & Conditions, and I understand that I will be auto-renewed annually (on or around August 1) for an NFL Game Pass Season Subscription at either the same price as the previous year's full season rate or the current full season rate, whichever is lower."

Looks like leaving autorenewal on will save me $90 or more, depending on the currency of the $255. Am I reading this all correctly?

Isn't $255 the season plus price and $165 the regular season price?

I've never noticed the fine print on the pricing, but interesting that they are keeping possible price rises away from you while guaranteeing you'll receive price cuts.

It's showing me $355 as the new season plus price. BTW all these prices are in AUD (I just found the option on the top).

Interesting.

When I see AUD as I say above.

When I switch to USD, I see $199 for plus and $129 for regular.

Doubly interesting, because those USD prices convert to AUD $270 and $175 - a lot closer to what I was quoted in my autorenewal email.
