Heard that last night, along with Michael Hibberd. Imagine that.
That’s sort of the issue with the points system every player dropping 1 every season. It allows even the premier to potentially bring in 2 afl players at least if they keep the same ground together.

How's that an issue? We should punish teams now for being successful...
But these 2 players will be 12 points. Makes it difficult for the rest of the team to fit within the points cap.
So comps penalise the strong teams with reduced points. May be a way of evening the comp.
If you keep the same side it’s not an issue they’ll have points. Every one dropped 1 (who was over 1)

Seems to be a different view to the one given to Bundoora on the same subject. McLarty unlucky, the way Joel Fitzgerald was rated was criminal. Points are a club decision in any case, Bergers will have a number away at VFL so points only become an issue with who misses out come finals….I think they will be fine.

what if points maximum dropped from 46 to 40? You would lose top end talent to other leagues not other same league clubs I reckon.

Tigers have lost their three best players - Gilmore, Smith and Schnerring plus Lachie Wilson depending how many VFL games he plays.

Some big losses there if true but I don’t think they will be too phased as the players mentioned have all given great service…plus they are still technically in a rebuilding phase. It just so happens that they have been able to win back to back flags during said phase.

HAHA has it ever existed?? The extent that some clubs flaunt the cap has increased in recent years but no league wants to bust a big club for cap breaches or elite players wont go to clubs in that league - No elite players, no crowds, no crowds no jobs for the fat cats!!Can we just get rid of the salary cap and stop pretending it exists

The salary cap is the most pointless thing going around. They don't enforce it, nor can they stop stop clubs paying cash.Can we just get rid of the salary cap and stop pretending it exists
I know they are trying to even out the comp, but its not going to work doing it that way.
