Mont very good at executing their game plan. Not sure that was best of the dogs and another chance v mont at Preston with Tardio and Wallis back could be a different look. Uzelac BOG. Brains trust at north will need to go to work.

Greensy v North going to be fiery.
Bergs-20 points
North - 22 points

Let’s hope the wind settles a tad.
North just ain’t that good mate. You always have an excuse for them

Every football ground in the state was severely wind affected today.
Unfortunately, some NFNL followers seem to think windy conditions are exclusive to Epping and Preston.

Having watch footy games from NFNL, VAFA, AFLOE and EFL over the past 3 weekends, I can confirm all leagues deal with the elements!

Melbourne is going through a windy period so it’s at all grounds at the moment… but Epping and Preston are much much more windy than say Eltham, Heidelberg and Diamond Creek.

TBF this is true, and at least somewhere like Heidelberg the ground is East-West, so the typical spring northerly doesn't blow to one end.

No real issue with Preston yesterday. Wind was everywhere. Have a look at the vision Channel 7 tweeted out of the Coates league game at La Trobe uni yesterday. Horrific conditions.

Crowd was pretty low but father days/pricing probably played a factor in that.

You can't enter form the city end of the ground anymore. There are new cricket nets in the forward pocket so that gate is gone, or at least nothing was open there yesterday.

I was at PCO yesterday to watch the elimination final, a challenging wind made it a low scoring and scrappy affair. The game opened up particularly in the last quarter. Hurstbridge had most of the play despite being against the wind but failed to generate scoring opportunities.
Jack Johnston was a brick wall all day, Brindley took some impressive grabs and young Glenn very good too. Declase very classy for the bridges. They sorely missed Naylor. Well done to the Slime who are an impressive young side.

The last goal for borough, was the free kick against the trainer?

Is boomer still that good? Besides the Boro game hasn’t been in the best nor kicked more than 1 goal.

Big in for Mont with Nash Holmes returning. I think Bergs vs Mont GF looking pretty likely.
coming off a horrific broken leg and close to 18 months off, hes played 4 games, kicked 7 in 1 of those.
im pretty sure he will take a decent defender and if fit prove hes still good enough at this level.

No. Runner inside 50 as Bridges kicked out from a behind. Runner looking for hole to crawl into!
bridges still had plenty of chances after that, a big error though

So the HB runner was in the 50m arc when HB were kicking out ? And this resulted in a free kick to GB?

If so, that’s an odd rule. Why would HB intentionally clog up their own defensive 50 on a kick out ? 🤷‍♂️

16:50 into the final quarter, you will see the HB runner enter the 50. Absolutely 0 impact on the game but rules are rules I guess.

It’s an odd rule, albeit well known…probably was an issue once upon a time when runners could do what they liked

Although the rule was correctly called when the runner entered the 50m arc, was the correct penalty applied? The 2 field umpires involved had words with some pointing before the penalty was applied. Should the free kick have been brought back the the 50m arc OR awarded at the top of the goal square, as it was?

Should have been top of the 50. That’s a bad mistake

didn’t even need to look that up. top of 50 is the rule.
