So the events of last week went largely unnoticed by most ..........The NFL in their infinite wisdom decides to delete the vision of a red card incident in the Fitzroy Stars v Watsonia game - An incident that the NFL tribunal found only worthy of a 6 game ban
So will the NFL now delete the vision of ALL red card incidents in ALL games from this point on? If not there is clearly a conflict of interest
Administrators at the NFL from the CEO and Football Operations down need a review as does the tribunal - Their performance must come in to question this year......The tribunal well, money for nothing best describes their performance this year

I’d hazard a guess the team he played for had an influence on why it was removed

Well done to Lower today - Much better side on the day
It shouldnt be a surprise to any side by now that you need to pick a much different side when you play at Lower - The ground is too small small for junior football let alone senior football!!
Lower have a very good side to suit the postage stamp ground and get the results there so well done to them
Fortunately the finals are played on Senior football grounds and I will still back both Banuyle and Thommo to beat Lower on a proper oval
Talking to a guy from Banyule who said Banyule’s ground is getting extended 5 metres length and width ways because it’s “too small” and doesn’t suit them. Hope they can cope with the bigger grounds during finals😉.

Oh, and Lower have played and won finals on big grounds a few times before. Pretty sure we’ve beaten Banyule at Epping not to long ago in finals🤔

All very true - Just my comments on the 2021 teams (Although Lower has kept most of its list over 3-4 years)
Even as a Lower supporter you must be embarrassed with the ground they have to play on?

Panton Hill advertising for a 19s coach, obviously great to see them trying and they have got it off the ground before.

It’s just hard too see them making one from scratch when clubs like Hurstbridge, Bundoora struggle for numbers with established sides.

Do they have a junior feeder?

Also a VAFA watcher and ventured to Lower vs Banyule for the 1st half.

Observations:
- Very impressed with Lower's ball movement. They played the ground much better than Banyule, hitting up targets and using the width of the ground as opposed to Banyule who seemed to want to launch it inside 50 long and high every time they got it around half-back/centre
- Banyule had the bigger bodies (generally) around the ground but Lower seemed to be better in the clinches, and Banyule's field kicking was all over the shop

Obviously missed the Banyule fightback and heard on the radio they had a few players out but overall was impressed with the standard. Banyule probably not too disappointed, a few out and good to have a loss at some point. Would be a fitting GF if these two meet at Cramer Street.

It's probably been done before but I've checked out the ground dimensions at Lower and it's 131m from post to post.
Wing to wing is roughly 106m wide.

Is it the smallest senior ground in Victoria?

For comparison Cramer St is 161m from post to post and 119m wide.

Does anyone really care? Its local footy, grounds are never going to be the same size.

Of course people should care, it can give sides a distinct home advantage if their squad is suited to it.
I'm sure Lowers contested work is right up there due to playing on a congested ground every home game.

Not that it's entirely a bad thing, ground sizes and conditions can one of the unique features our game has compared to basketball for example.

Only really hear about it when teams go to Lower and lose.

All clubs should have a home ground advantage on their home decks. They are literally there a minimum of twice a week.

Just people giving their opinion like you - People are making comment on the Lower ground simply because it is the most 'unique' in local footy being so small end to end
Lower make the most of it so good on them

Some grounds are small, some are too big, some are too windy, some have shit atmosphere, etc, etc. Balwyn has a small ground in the EFL as well. The fact that we play the ground to the advantage of ourselves and still win on “bigger” grounds is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Quite an achievement I’d have thought🤙

Geez, Lower have won a couple of Grand Finals at Cramer St. Amazing!!😉

If it is such an advantage why did LP not win more games in Div 1 and how come they manage to win at Epping and Cramer St come finals?

And people saying they should be embarrassed about the ground its not their fault and other grounds are not much bigger, I am sure once it was posted here the the other ground next door is only 8 meters bigger and Hurstbridge cannot be too much bigger I would think.

Im like others, different grounds are great and do not mind going to Lower and watching a game. Would be interesting to know all grounds measurements.

Would be interesting to know the measurements of other grounds mate. I know many years ago when Pete Bugden was assistant to Ronnie at Lower, he actually did go and measure all grounds that we were due to play on that year. Perhaps a job for someone who’s a bit bored or wants to escape shopping with the missus for a day😁
