Early days but

South imo play finals. Not surprised. They have many good footballers there.

Panton Hill losing by close to 100 points at home? That’s a disaster. The Good Friday interruption didn’t help… but terrible loss.

St Mary’s, well that’s what happens when you recruit no one…

St marys are in a world of hurt. Ventured down to Whatmough today to see if they could bounce back and boy I was wrong. No structures, no game plan, no anything. For a club that was so close to playing finals last year to take a massive step backwards hurts. For me they won’t make finals, unless a fair few things change. Don’t think the coach is the right fit for the club anymore.

South has started well, as previously said, can’t be taken lightly, well placed to play finals.

He has done a good job to get them into D2 and stabilise them , but every coach has an expiration date.

Could not agree more. Just think something needs to change there whether it’s the coach or something in the football department I’m not really sure.

Dosent look like the club recruited much in the off season? Dosent help a coach if your not topping up like every other club that wants to be competitive
I would be more concerned if my club spent a lot on recruits and were getting smashed
St Marys will always have a strong junior program

It was a toss of the coin GF day last year with both SM & Laurimar having strong depths in both grades.
I still stand by my comment that they would be competative in D2.

There in division 3 for a reason.. Because they are not good enough. They would beat epping and that would be it

Course they would. Barely anything separated them and South Morang. South have come up and shown they can easily match it in D2.

Epping better than we thought? Are PH and Lower in relegation territory?

Eltham training on Anzac day as normal Tuesday night... Hearing Bongo not rubbing off all the right ways at Panther

I know of other teams that trained yesterday, but did a morning session to allow players to enjoy the festivities of the rest of the day. A night session is a bit harsh on a public holiday

I used the day to catch up with some mates at the RSL and then watch the game. Snowball's chance I would trained in the arvo if I was still playing.

No doubt about it, you can tell by how they are playing…….

Round 3 tips

Northcote Park vs Panton Hilp clash for the first time and the cougars go into the game full of confidence after receding win #1 last week. For the redbacks, they were extremely disappointing last week. Can’t see them getting their first win tomorrow. Northcote Park by 25 points

Watsonia vs St Marys. The saints were super impressive last week, St Marys the opposite. Watsonia are a high scoring team and they will have too much firepower for St Marys. Watsonia by 22 points

Eltham vs Thomastown. The panthers just keep going from strength to strength with an emphatic win last week. Thomastown would have been very disappointed last Sat night. The return of Coulson will help but the Panthers to continue their winking ways. Eltham by 32 points

Sth Morang vs Epping. The lions will look to move to 3-0 when they face Epping. Epping made Diamond Creek work hard last week and will hope this can continue against the Lions. Sth Morang to move to 3-0, Lions by 39 points

Lower Plenty vs Diamond Creek, always a great game between these 2 clubs but one seems to be moving forward and the other going the other way. Demons get back Booth, Searl and Norman and will be too strong. Demons by 32 points

Enjoy the footy

I think you'll need to double the margins on your NP, Watsonia and Sth Morang tips.

NP by 45 points. Panton Hill need to extract a digit, expecting NP to be too quick and too skillful.

Watsonia by 35 points. Expecting something out of St. Marys early before Watsonia get on top.

Thomastown by 10 points. Going for an upset here. Stranger things have happened. Eltham can't afford a slow start this week.

Sth Morang by 45 points. Epping to make it a grind for Sth Morang.

DC by 15 points. Getting vibes that DC are just going at the moment. Expecting better things from them as the season progresses.

Northcote V Panton - Northcote by 50+ if there anything they wanna be this year in regards to contention.

Watsonia V Burra - Watsonia to keep rolling, although they haven’t beaten St Marys since round 1 2019!! Watsy by 60+

Eltham V Thommo- Could be a arm wrestle. Thomastown need to be competitive, Eltham by 25

South Morang V Epping - South Morang could demolish epping, but epping haven’t been beaten by as much as we’ve all thought so far this year. South by 60

Lower V Diamo - Diamo to win by 60+
