Depends what you judge it on.ONTHEPROWL what makes it the best ground?
Definitely think there are a number of NFNL grounds better than Eltham
In terms of playing surface/size it’s good but not the best… Mernda probably have that wrapped up.

Elthams ground is a nice size for juniors.
Merndas surface is no good, got more hills in it than the Dandenongs.Depends what you judge it on.

Eltham is the best facility and ground is awesome as well, maybe 10-15m wider would be ideal for seniors.Merndas surface is no good, got more hills in it than the Dandenongs.
Eltham is a nice viewing ground.

Talking about purely size and quality of ground. The rest of the facility is average.Mernda is a shocker. Cant see the other side of the ground from the wings.
Feels so manufactured there too.
Best grounds in the league for mine are Eltham, Diamo, Heidelberg, Watsonia (Binnak), Northcote and Epping.
Worst are Greensborough, Montmorency, Banyule (pre being worked on)
Did the 6 Division 2 Premierships happen 50 years ago?Shocked a Carlton supporter is using historic examples from 50+ years ago as to why current day clubs should be “envious”
not for juniors. Are you seriously saying eltham is a small ground ?
Heidelberg - it's a shocking ground does not hold water that flash. Good ground to watch but that's itMernda is a shocker. Cant see the other side of the ground from the wings.

I went to Mernda and watched my mate play cricket and there were balls jumping at them in the field. It also blows a gale.Eltham is the best facility and ground is awesome as well, maybe 10-15m wider would be ideal for seniors.
Which Mernda ground are you talking about? The lower one is a fantastic.
Banyule could easily win this once done.
Did anyone notice that when the Epping ground was redone, it was shortened by 9 meters.Talking about purely size and quality of ground. The rest of the facility is average.
Ah yep forgot about Epping, fantastic size and ground.
They have won 2 division 2 premiershis in the last 22 years and there last division 1 premiships was about 50 years ago.Eltham sit 3rd overall for Division 1 Premierships behind Heidelberg and Greensborough on 8, with their 6 Division 2 Premierships being the most for any side. Plenty of other clubs would be envious of that history.
Obviously been a long time between drinks in Division 1, but clubs have lean periods even at AFL level.
About as much legs as Mernda, PH, Diamond, Bundy, Monty, the list goes on.the Thomastown salary cap cheating story has plenty of legs at the moment.
Plays for Corowa-Rutherglen and staying there for season 2023.
Seems to change every time I speak to someone from Panther…Goodwin playing for Eltham in 2023. Only has to train once a week that’s why is playing Div 2. Massive get for Eltham
Take it to the bankSeems to change every time I speak to someone from Panther…
The rumor is he is taking it to the bank costing close to 20% of the salary cap if he plays all the games.Take it to the bank
Will be highest paid in compThe rumor is he is taking it to the bank costing close to 20% of the salary cap if he plays all the games.
Would get $1500 anywhere. Hardly a lot of a player of his caliber. The rumor is he is taking it to the bank costing close to 20% of the salary cap if he plays all the games.
He struggled massively last year. Wouldn't get anywhere near $1500 in Div 1.Would get $1500 anywhere. Hardly a lot of a player of his caliber.
20% is like $1000 a game
Came back from a broken leg so not surprised. Clubs pay outrageous money for ruckman that’s just the way it is.He struggled massively last year. Wouldn't get anywhere near $1500 in Div 1.
They do. But you are correct, he came back from injury, put on weight and really struggled. So training once a week is a bit of a worry. No Div 1 team is paying him anywhere near that.Came back from a broken leg so not surprised. Clubs pay outrageous money for ruckman that’s just the way it is.
