Pre-season prediction: 7th
End of season result: 5th
Average points per game: 82
Average against per game: 85
Players used: 44
All 19 games (including finals) Lucente & K Van Zwienan
Times in best: J Boulton 12 A Sinclair 9
Leading goalkickers: Lucente 61, Charles 33, Alfonsi 28 plus 4 other 10+ goals
The Saints would be disappointed with their elimination final loss to Sth Morang on Sunday but they continue to take forward steps and improvement was made from 2022. Not many would have had them playing finals in 2023 but they worked hard to get back into finals after a long absence. Lucente was again fantastic up forward and with the recruitment of Charles he had a good partner to take some pressure off. Boulton had a terrific season and should pill well in league B&F count.
Plenty to like and look forward to in 2024 for Watsonia supporters

I had them finishing last at start of year so Yes, better than I thought.Panton Hill finished 3rd last ahead of 2 basket case clubs after recruiting more players than any DIV 2 club and presumably spending more $$$ than any other DIV 2 club and they went better than you thought? They finished 3rd bottom in DIV 2! Are you the coach of Panton Hill

I’d imagine it will be easier than this seasons gig. My personal opinion is that Plunks deserves to go around again with what was thrown at him and all the coaches but we’ll wait and see.

Diamond Creek vs Eltham
Round 6: Eltham 6-10-46 DC 9-11-65
Round 15: DC 9-6-60 E 6-3-39
Huge game and the two best teams in the competition go head to head to see who progressed to the grand final first
6 changes for Diamond Creek including Searl and Booth returning who have had great season.
For Eltham Merkel returns in the only change.
Can the Eltham forwards generate a winning score against a Diamond Creek defence that has only given up 38 points per game this year.
The big difference I see is that Maley hasn’t played against Diamond Creek in either game this year due to VFL commitments. Can he be the difference between 2 fairly evenly matched teams.
I had Eltham as premiership favourites at the start of the year, Diamond Creek though have been just as good. Toss of the coin but am selecting Eltham to be the first team into the 2023 grand final. Eltham by 9 points
St Marys Vs Sth Morang

St Marys struggled last week in their first ever Division 2 final but had earnt the double chance and now require it. Antypas is a big in for the Burra but they do lose Loccisano who has kicked 13 goals and been named in their best 5 times this year. They will need big games from N Dean, Cicitta, Bianchin and Hanlon to overcome a Sth Morang team that comes in full of confidence after last weeks big elimination final win over Watsonia
The lions have named G Moorcroft after missing last weeks game and the evergreen forward will look to use his experience to be the difference in the game. If Moorcroft doesn’t come up then I think it swings back St Marys way.
Sth Morang held 3rd spot for several weeks and I think they will advance. Sth Morang by 14 points

Should be a cracker, DC have the wood but eltham a few aces up their sleeve with Mayley who hasn’t played against DC. No Norman and Macpherson hurts but should have the gameplan to hold Eltham. DC 19 points
