They changed to a Sporting Club a few years ago incorporating Reservoir Football Club, Cameron Cricket Club and Reservoir Darts Club.
Footy and cricket club are on their knees and cant see much coming in from darts club.

Hi Local Spy,

I've been reading your post with great vigor of late, and it really got me thinking!!. A lot of your posts if not all are directed towards ressa and very much hold negative cogitations. So I have to ask, did you get hurt? I'm just trying to find out why one individual is so fascinated with us? I'd really like to know more so, so I can help you with whatever happened.

P.s still standing by the bar for you to show me the "texts"

Let me start by saying, do we know where we stand. Yes - Yes we do.
Has there been improvement - 50pt Improvement from the last time we play the Power
Have we seen new young players to the club - yes

Will we be around next year- Of course we will - Will we be better this year, of course, we will

I really don’t see the improvement. 2019 they were scoring decent scores now lucky to kick 3 or 4 goals.

Their coach spends more time carrying on at umpires and opposition than coaching. I wouldn’t want to think what they’d be paying these Braybrook recruits to get them to play there.

Lalor have had a few decent games this year unlucky not to pinch a win against the Turtles and West, 1 of which will play finals. They actually have quite a few really decent players if they can hold them and get a hand full more in they may be able too turn the tide.

Its amazing though after just doing some calculations, the Bloods have Only kicked roughly 2 and half goals more per game on average than Reservoir. The bloods on paper have some handy players but cant seem to get the wins on the board or bigger scores.

Yes they do have some handy players that are in the twilight of there career.

No they wouldnt.

Last three teams relegated from division 1:

2019 - Lower - 2 wins
2018 - Whittlesea - 2 wins
2017 - Eltham - 5 wins

Are Northcote going to have a better record than any of them?
Yes they would. I've watched both Northcote and the top 4 play in Div 2 and they would beat all of them. Div 1 is extremely even and they missed out on playing Whittlsesea.

Banyule would beat both Whittlesea and NP at the moment. Probably the same with Lower Plenty.

Not sure this would be the case. Both Whittlesea & Northcote Park have been very competitive in Division 1.
Whittlesea went from Div 1 in 2018, back to Div 2 and won the flag over Banyule.

Lower Plenty finished last in 2019 in Div 1 and now have a 8-1 record in Div 2, and if they beat Banyule this week might become premiership favourites.

The difference between Div 1 and Div 2 is big and whoever does go into Div 1 in 2022 will need to be prepared

Further to your point, in the last 10 years 4 of the D2 premiers have bounced straight back down, 3 (+Whittlesea this season) finished 9th, 1 finished 8th, and North finished 3rd in 2018 - having come up with one of the most dominant and talent-laden D2 sides of all time.

I've just heard from 2 separate blokes in as many days that mernda have chosen to start playing the young as we all saw this weekend but one of the main reasons in doing so is because the joint has been struggling to pay the player bill with the "big star recruits".
It's a shame if true because we actually might be witnessing Jacana 2.0 for real.

The positive is the kids seem to have done a better job last week then some of the mature players have all year.

Yep heard that as well. A couple of weeks ago. Wrapped to see the young blokes getting a go and actually having a crack and all of a sudden they look like they have a future.
Allegedly a lot of young ones have signed on for next year as well. Just because they want to stay together as a group.
They all think the coach is a dickhead and has no idea, some are saying the worst coach they have ever had, no direction no leadership always blaming them cause he don’t know what he is doing, the guy is literally a dud.
But the boys want to stick together which is lucky for Mernda.

Maybe big name assistant coach who recently stopped playing because of injury has something to do with it? Always been a great supporter of youth and giving them a go.

Who’s been dropped to the twos?

Probably why king retired though.

Watching from afar King was excellent with the youth and really showed the way with his direction and instructions, its a shame his body didn't allow him to continue. From what I've seen from the big name recruits he was the one to be showing the most direction. I hope he isn't lost to the club next year because I think he could help the kids develop in a quicker time.
It's a shame that Evans has walked away as he was great to watch. Tough at it and found the pill. Hopefully he returns.

South will drop a game somewhere.
Went Had a look at South Morang on the weekend they are definitely the Side to beat Without stating the obvious....Definitely wouldn’t want to go through undefeated seen it over the the years....that when you go through undefeated most times you Fall at the last hurdle ...Let’s just hope that doesn’t happen to Morang because they deserve to win it.

South are a very good side, and the best set to compete in d2 with 19s, good reserves and a young senior side.

Obviously the best side but not absolutely dominating the other final contenders. I still think any finals side can win it. Every top 4 side has a few guns who can turn it on.

Power v Lions - 2 of the top teams in the division. Lions yet to put a foot wrong and can’t see it changing. Lions will hurt Laurimar on the rebound and win by 23 points

Turtles V Blues - Turtles find themselves in the 4 with a nice draw post covid, Kilmore purring along nicely with a big win against West. I think the Turtles will take their first big scalp on their home deck 13 points

Demons v Mustangs - Demons have had 2 positive weeks in a row for a club now facing a “rebuild” they’ll get the chocolates here 70 points.

Lalor v West - West can breathe a sigh of relief here after a tough draw. Unfortunately after looking the goods early you can basically take them out of premiership contention just being too far behind the best sides. Lalor challenged them last time but they also challenged the turtles who beat them by 90 odd last week. West by 80

Round 11 in Division 3 and some exciting games coming up which will have finals ramifications

Old Eltham (4th) take on Kilmore (3rd) which is a fantastic match up. The turtles have put themselves in the top 4 but have a harder run home, can they beat Kilmore and maintain that 1 game and % gap over Heidelberg West. Both teams have shown good form since returning from the Covid break. Picking the turtles on their home deck to get that all important win and maintain 4th spot. Turtles by 7 points.

Heidelberg West (5th) take on Lalor (7th) in a must win game for West. They do get the 3 M’s Miki, Marris and Mozdzierz back this week which is a huge boost for them. Lalor would be looking for that big upset win though to give them something to look forward for rest of season and into 2022. West though just have to win if they want to play finals, west by 23 points.

Match of the round in Division 3 sees Laurimar (2nd) take on Sth Morang (1st) which should be a terrific game. Both teams have exciting forwards with Williamson, Francis and Cecil at Laurimar vs Potter, Coladis, Peterson at Sth Morang. Which backline will hold up. The Power need to keep winking if they want the double chance, the Lions have the double chance locked away. Tipping the power to even the ledger at 1 win a piece. Power by 5 points.

Mernda (6th) take on Reservoir (8th) Again plenty of big footy chatter about the Demons this week and pressure firmly on them to get win number 3 for the season. Can the Mustangs spring the surprise and break thorough for their first win of the 2021 season. Will Mernda succumb to this pressure? I think Mernda will win by 31 points but hope the Mustangs continue to show improvement for its players and supporters.

Lets hope for some good weather and the footy is played in the right spirits

How are Mernda facing a rebuild? They have been blooding kids for the past 2 seasons. Desi had kids playing and Fletch has been playing kids. Yes Fletch has brought in a heap of older blokes who haven't set the world on fire but because they have left or retired doesn't mean they are rebuilding. When you say rebuilding they have struggled for a number of years. Them not in the finals isn't a shock. They are heading in the right direction but just remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

You basically answered your own question?

How is them not playing finals not a shock? Their coach said if they don’t it will be a failure?

Their fans basically thought they’d win it this year and now face a few years of playing kids before having a finals tilt, this is also known as a rebuild....

Unless of course they bring in more players from other dud clubs because they aren’t patient enough to spend a few years rebuilding
