Kind of sucks for returning players if they've already got the kit. Most clubs charge the annual subs then you can pick and choose what you buy kit wise

Maybe there is another option or maybe new sponsors to facilitate that can happen with apparel on occassions?

I dont think they care about returning players it is about looking after the new crop. They can afford to take the hit on rego with the amount of money the club seems to have right now.

I think this would be an attempt to offset all apparel so it isnt needed to be declared as an additional incentives within the cap. $300+ of inclusions multiplied by the number of senior contracted players could equate to $6k of salary cap offsets.

They would be including it with rego to save the convo of "Sign for this much and we will throw in apparel as the sweetener"

Not sure why this is a great talking point.. it is literally the same at every club.. give or take maybe $50 bucks.
You can have it cheaper but then have to buy your polo jumper shorts etc separately… as every club every year changes sponsors or updates and players have to purchase new gear.
So it makes no difference whatsoever and unless you haven’t been involved in this stuff for a long time.. this is just what it costs to play in 2025.
