Would be an interesting list. We listed 2 tonight as special mentions when we did the top 10 for div 3 and ladder prediction. Lincoln coffee and Max Brown. Who are you thinking?

Have your say or come on The Northern Footy Show. Email me thenorthernfootyshow@gmail.com
Great work tonight - and fair assessment from Daz and Jk on where things are at. Very, very close season you would imagine and the standard better than last year.

Agree - Stars favs .... blanket the rest of the field. Can't wait!!!!

Would love to see the top 30 names to see how many each side features

Word is now only 1 Div 3 club that was not named has been approved extra points for 2025. Lalor or Reservoir??
Up until two weeks ago Ressa was confirmed as the club with extra points by
  • a VERY good mate of mine playing at Ressa (and laughing about it),
  • from the NFNL directly via a question from a club
  • the new chairman of NFNL speaking to one of our coaches.
  • AFL Vic contact

I have no knowledge of that position now for Ressa
OR
If Lalor asked for and received a player points advantage in season 2025.

I had an in-depth chat with a coach at our club over a few frothies and for the NFNL not to advise or discuss with clubs that a team will start with a point advantage over other clubs is - IMHO - the wrong way to manage the message and collaborate with clubs.

Whilst it may not change the result, that's not the point, it was a missed opportunity for the H/O to have constructive conversations with member clubs. Not, 'it's none of your business' as the response from H/O. Because it is reasonable for every club starting the year with a player points dis-advantage to another club to ask legitimate and respectful questions on the topic.

I suppose we will all know round 1 when we play Ressa+ v Ivanhoe should all players playing that day take the points above 46.

I find it interesting every other year there is open disclosure about the clubs that are receiving extra points and for some reason this season it’s top secret information by HQ even though it’s widely known what the situation is.
Makes the league completely lacking transparency with all clubs that pay affiliation fees and deserve the right to honesty. The bragging I’ve heard being done by those involved with Reservoir about “rolling the league” is quite laughable in itself with how the league has handled this.

There is nobody at Reservoir talking about “rolling the league”
Reservoir finished last.
And have been terrible for nearly a decade… there is not one single person who is legitimately involved at Ressa thinking they rolled anybody.

Nearly a decade wow what a shame, imagine being 1 of only 2 clubs in Div 3 to have also won an NFNL flag in the last decade. Can twist the narrative either way really.

You’ve missed my point here..
I don’t think you can twist the narrative that reservoir have been terrible the last decade in terms of onfield results.

The response … was regarding the thought that there was anyone at Ressa who are walking around thinking they have won anything.. it ain’t the case.
Clubs training hard, committee are working hard. That’s all you can do
