All things being equal, you would think the league only has one more spot for a club to come across.

I hope they are being strategic and diligent in who that club is. Instead of throwing open the doors, do your homework on the clubs and make the best choice.

Put some serious time into Lalor and Reservoir and make them sustainable. Give them as much support as required over the next 24 months.

After that make a call on either Parade, Ivanhoe or Wollert/North Epping

Could be Donnybrook Dragons? Their junior footy didn't quite get up this year, but netball did and they won the Section 13 flag so that's a good boost for the club in its foundation year. I seem to remember reading that their plan was to build a junior club and then to move into seniors in time. It took Laurimar six years to achieve that though, not sure if the NFNL would be happy to have a bye for that long...

There isn’t clubs lining up to get into the northern. If we can get a 10th any way possible that would be fantastic.

What the league looks like in 5 or 10 years is anyones guess. Wouldn’t surprise me if 1 or 2 clubs aren’t here for whatever reason.

You'd be surprised. I know for an absolute fact of two clubs in conversations with the league about coming across, but its just coming down to timing.

The league is keen on the growth corridors though. Donnybrook already have juniors and the league was consulted during planning for new ovals North of Epping.

Which clubs? Parade and Iavanhoe?

Not sure about this. Heard differently they are quite happy in the ammos.

Who knows what’s going on with Kinglake. OE are pretty solid they think they can hold them to contract.

I’ve heard they owe bulk $ (whether this was strategic to get them cleared). And I’ve heard AFL vic said they won’t be involved in overriding contracts :/

There are a few rumbles at Divisional level about stability of the lower grades and the stability of some clubs at that level (there may well be more mergers than just the Manningham-Yarra one in the next 12 months). A couple of clubs have started looking around to see the lay of the land in the Northern and Southern leagues.

10571z have never heard they owe bulk $, not sure that is correct.

Kinglake cleared to Northern FNL yesterday afternoon by AFL Victoria.

Kinglake made the clearance request, OEFL denied the clearance, AFL Victoria have upheld Kinglake's appeal.

Saga over.
MortlockWatcher exactly.
OEFL just trying to save some face so that there 3 divisions don’t fall over.
Made promises to Hallam that they won’t have to travel over the hill to Alexandra or Broadford but looks like that is all falling apart for AFLOE.

Great to have Kinglake back in NFNL, been awhile since I have travelled up the mountain but from memory it can get mighty cold.

You'll be fine. Pack a puffer jacket or an extra jumper and she'll be apples. I am sure they'll have a few campfires set up for the colder days.

When I played there in our first season in the DVFL, there was one game where the fog was down to about five metres. A high kick would see the ball vanish for a few seconds and made the game more interesting. I never got to play in snow though.

Outer East will probably come up with some stupidity like a 7-7-7 setup to keep their precious three-tier competition.

Hallam no guarantee to get in. There's a vote next week and a few clubs are pissed about them being whisked straight into Div. 1 and a GUARANTEE that they will never have to travel to Alexandra or Broadford-Yea.

How could any league possibly guarantee that lol?
