Was Sherman liked at Laurimar. Seems to be the club he spent the most time at recently? Seems like most other clubs he has coached has ended poorly.
10571z from all reports yes, worked well with the young group
From memory left to join Northern Knights
Someone from the power might be able to give more details though

They are 1-29 over their past 2 seasons. Going to need to recruit very very strongly to even be competitive
Never underestimate the drawing power of dropping a division. In true Fitzroy Stars fashion, there'll be a few heads pop back in from the sniff of easy wins but were nowhere to be seen when they were struggling.

The guys at Waterview Reserve must be excited by the recruiting of the equivalent D3 leading goal kicker from Keilor Park. Exciting times ahead hopefully he is playing in the seniors and not the reserves like he did at Keilor Park. All these blokes coming in has a similar smell to the storyteller's previous clubs.

Failed to mention that part in his write up.

Even to be competitive in Division 3? Are you taking the piss? The standard of Div 3 is woeful. They could keep the same list and be competitive. If they recruit some handy players, they will be favourites.
Heidelberg West beat epping in a practice match by 10 goals… Epping was better than the stars. West didn’t even make finals

Epping best Mernda by 10 points in a practice match…

What does practice matches have to do with anything?
Division 1 teams lose to lower level teams all the time. Does it mean they would be competitive in a regular season? Not close

They lost to Panton Hill by 2 goals twice this year. Panton Hill would be Red Hot favourites to win Div 3.

Practice matches give us a gauge…

Where do you think stars would have finished last year in D3?

Did Stars lose to Mernda in a practice match also?

I expect stars to be very competitive and as will Kinglake, Power, Kilmore, Turtles, West & Mernda all pushing to play finals. With some luck bloods and reservoir will find a few more players to help bridge the gap

Not sure the result of that game.

Yep agreed. should be a very competitive year.

They would have played finals. Do you think Epping and Panton Hill would have played finals? Ofcourse they would have. All 3 of those sides fought out close games this year.

If South Morang don't recruit and keep the same list, they will be a bottom 3 side. There's a big big gap between divisions.

Panton would have played finals but they are a long way from the GF side you remember. Literally only a hand full of players still playing.

Epping and Fitzroy absolutely no chance would have played d3 finals this year.

Anyway we both are entitled to an opinion

10571z totally agree
Both Epping and Fitzroy stars with their respective 2022 lists would not have played Div 3 finals.
It looks like the Stars though are recruiting and will have a much stronger team in 2023.
The biggest thing for the Stars was complete lack of depth, this is the area where they need to improve the most.

Laurimar, Kilmore, Old Eltham, Heidelberg West, Mernda will all look to improve.

If Kinglake retain their 2022 list, they will be very competitive as well

I’m backing laurimar for next years flag and Kilmore to miss the finals atm
