Kinglake will get to the NFNL. I’m quite confident of that.

There are ways around any “contract”… even as extreme as “folding” the club and restarting under a slightly different name.

Like when Whittlesea 'folded' so they could leave the Panton Hill FL and 're-formed' as the Northern Eagles in the Riddell DFL in the late-1980s (1987 or 1988?).

The club was on its knees and near to bankrupt just a few years ago.

Had its most successful season in a long time on the football field and is doing well on the Netball court.

The league is just rewarding a club that is moving in the right direction after some dark days.

Also if you think they won because they “tossed a few bucks” around, you must be dreaming. You reckon money decided an award for Heidelberg West ahead of Heidelberg, Diamond Creek and Panton Hill?

Is there a criteria?

Criteria I believe is based on things like behavior on and off field (I don’t think west had any reports) , growth of club (netball), financial (paying their league bills on time) and just genuinely how they are to deal with.

MortlockWatcher yep welcome the Mountainview Lakers Football and Netball club.

Whittlesea I think won a flag under the Northern Eagles banner and then returned to Whittlesea football club on entry into the old DVFL

Will be interesting to see what happens next with Kinglake, looks like they are off to AFLVIC appeals

The Northern Eagles were premiers of Division 2 in 1988 says Wikipedia.
They joined the DVFL I think in 1992. I know they weren't there when Templestowe moved to the EDFL in 1991.

Good on Ryall. He is way above the level of Div 3 he should go see how good he can be. I hope he goes straight to a 1st Div club. BTE probably should do the same while he is young and healthy.

In positive news Lalor and Reservoir have reappointed their coaches. Both plan to go around again which is good news for the league.

Handy. Got dropped for finals but been a solid contributor for a while

Yeh huge loss. Great bloke too.

Will need to improve alot to get a game at most Div 1 clubs. But I'm sure he will with a Div 1 pre season or 2 under his belt.
