Reserves a chance as Kilmore play Old Eltham who are 2nd in the reserves. If Lalor 2’s forfeit it would be the second time that has occurred against West this season, if Kilmore do win and they miss by percentage, then that is a tough pill to swallow.

In seniors, Kilmore and Old Eltham games have traditionally been close and tough affairs. The turtles beat Kilmore in senior finals last year, can they cause some hurt for the Turtles by getting the upset and making the Turtles fall out of the top 4 after round 18.
Either way, let’s hope Old Eltham scores are live and updated on the app so everyone not at the game can see what’s happening

Kilmore two’s have only played one match against Lalor, the second match was forfeited. Kilmore’s percentage is 171% against 116% for the Hawks. I don’t reckon the one less match against Lalor would account for the massive difference in percentage between these two teams.

Should be ripper games, even if HW sneak in will be good games. Who's yr money on in the mernda laurimar game? Me, I'm not sure. hard to go past menrda haven't really put a foot wrong, but laurimar's last couple of yrs with finals and everything, going to be tight.

Have to go with Laurimaur, by far the best side I believe we played against this year and their two's will smash it. So both straight into the GF.
 
Laurimar clearly the best side in the back half of the year.

Knocked off kinglake by 48, West by 63, Mernda by 32 and lost a close one to Turtles at there ground but couldn’t convert with 21 scoring shots to 13. They have been an inaccurate side all year but if they get that right it’s hard to see them losing a final.

Round 18 tips

Old Eltham vs Kilmore. Can Kilmore cause the upset to knock Old Eltham out of finals. They have made 7 changes so can’t see it happening. Old Eltham by 27 points

Lalor vs Heidelberg West. 2 teams that will be disappointed on Sat. Lalor with there season and Heidelberg West missing out on finals by %. Heidelberg West though to finish on a high with a 129 point win

Laurimar vs Reservoir. A soft lead in for Laurimar heading into finals. Reservoir have improved in season 2023 however a big loss to finish off 2023 season. Laurimar by 127 points

Fitzroy Stars Vs Mernda. A solid hit out for the Demons prior to 2nd semi final. The stars will be disappointed they aren’t playing finals but they have consolidated after a winless 2022 season. Mernda by 47 points

Youd hope this isnt the case. I honestly cant see things changimg with the things they have in place. They need a huge turnaround , good on them for having things in place but realistically this all needs to happen by Start of December to know that they will have 2 full sides each week next year

Rusted nuts totally agree. West have received 2 forfeits from Lalor and could miss finals by % which is terrible for them.
Will Lalor survive with Whitnall at the helm. They need at least 30 news players to make sure they have 2 team each week for season 2024. If they can’t guarantee that then not sure how they can stay in competition which was be sad but sometimes reality has to be faced

How about the senior teams that played Lalor following 14 players double up or the teams that played Lalor where reserves forfeited where they were running on fresh legs. League votes, Comp goalkicking, percentage….Whitnall can go there to save them and they can have the richest bloke in the world operating them but doesn’t change the fact they are spineless.

If Ivanhoe and Parade put their hand up then what? If they could push Reservoir or Lalor to join or 1 to leave it would be about perfect with a 10 team comp.
 
If Old Eltham's percentage doesn't change, Heidelberg West need to win by at least 471 points.

Hearing that Lalor's reserves have forfeited pretty much nullifies that so ultimately it's going to come down to Kilmore stepping up to shock the Collegians.

Just had a look and the 2s goal kicking IMO Lalor games need to be removed.

The leader Webb has kicked 11 against Lalor

While second place Taylor from West hasn’t been able to play them this season. He would be leading by 3 goals if all Lalor games removed. Same with votes for comp medal as West have now played 2 less games.

Hopefully the league take some action.

Nothing will happen we know that the league couldn’t care less unless it affects them . League doesn’t care they still get fees they don’t lose anything .

NFNL Response will be-"nothing we can do about it, its up to Clubs to field teams every week"

But you would think if enough people yell loud enough, they may seriously ask questions of Lalor next year. This crap cannot go on.
But as someone said, it doesnt affect them so they wont care.

Mernda finished top minor premier game clear, are they good enough? will laurimar fullfill the hype? Or will turtles try and beat up on few, has Kinglake run out of gas, great final series coming up
