Too many scotches old mate. Whilst BF is great for rumors and inuendo sometimes it's a tad ridiculous.

Yeah Caf was given the Assistant Principal job at Eltham Collage and his kids free schooling.....at a $50k+ a year school that has no real association with the Club. If the Turts has that pull they would be walking into Div 1 in years as who could knock back that.....

However I reckon he has signed somewhere, no idea but think Epping is on the money. No idea about Keys but Williamson doing contract deals with his manager mainly reviewing canteens and which is the best (I use this joke annually about him, an oldie but I am sticking to it as funny). Heard Malone has also signed but at another Div 2 or 3 club, not sure who that's all I heard.

Taglieri maybe on the money as well, would be great to have him back.
Great for the ressies to have him back?

Very good signing for the Pingers and if talk of Caff there also then along with others announced will see significant improvement from a club that already finished top 5. Well played 👏

With 11 teams in the Div 3 comp again next year how do we start the process of fixture equity to keep the competition as even as possible, yet not significantly disadvantage teams?

It's a tough gig that's for sure and it's not going to be truly equitable, but how do you try and support the 'best possible result' for the comp?

Nfnl here champ.
Equality? They don’t know the word.
Think would be pretty easy to make it as fair as possible..
Top 4 from last year, team coming down fits into that category.. they must play each other twice..
middle four same and bottom 3 same..
Top 4 can only play 1 or 2 of the bottom teams twice and so on…

Can never be truely equal unless 20 rounds but should be able to make it a little more fair for all..

Spoke to a Eltham person today and despite being pissed off that Macaffer didn’t return to them in 2024 as expected, he reckons that it’s Epping or no one.

Was given a job and school fees at Turtles, so perhaps job at Epping and free education at Epping Secondary College🤣.

Also heard Taglieri back to Eltham in some capacity and Keys as well.
Completely incorrect about school fees. Fact.

Bottom 3 will need it the gap between them and teams above them is getting larger as the days go on. Kilmore and Kinglake both closer to the top 5 than the bottom 3.

Can't comment on the NFNL as a whole but this issue would be a challenge at the moment for anyone.

Your idea has same merit though and would support the bottom teams ability to compete and as you get stronger the challenge increases - just as it does with promotion and relegation. Interesting.

That’s not equal? That’s an easier draw for lower place clubs…

The draw should be equal for Mernda and Lalor. Not the brains trust giving bottom clubs like stars easy draws and clubs like Kinglake hard ones based on previous form.

11 clubs

Split in half

3 double ups from top half 3 double ups from bottom…

No one plays reservoir and lalor both twice.

That's a pretty good suggestion also and whilst Lalor and Ressa a rebuilding could be a good short term option.

I like the thought behind your ideas just how many times to resa and lalor play each other and what happens if either rssa or lalor show a bigger improvement than the other

That’s what my thoughts are exactly. I just split it in 3rd not halves like you. May have worded it a bit wrong. But on same path as your mate..🤙🏼

But who knows what the league will do.

Lalor and rez shouldn't verse a single side that finished top 5 twice, wouldn't be against them to play each other even 3 times ( although that would never happen)
It’s should be an even draw. Not oh this team might be not so good let’s help them.

There is 6 double ups per team…

11 teams… every one could play either reservoir or lalor twice but not both…

Problem solved.

What your saying is teams like Kinglake and Kilmore who have recruit well should get 2 extra wins head start (based off the previous 5 seasons) compared to the top 5…

Are Reservoir and Lalor as far behind as they were 2 years ago to still be put in a completely separate category? Reservoir were 7 points off Ivanhoe and nearly beat Heidelberg West twice, lat quarter fade outs ultimately cost them. They also beat Lalor. Lalor beat Kilmore, were within 50 points of OP and Epping, 40 points from Stars and 2 goals off Kinglake.

Agree with aliginging the fixture into sections to try and make it a bit fairer but saying Reservoir and Lalor both shouldnt double up against any top 5 teams and play eachother 3 times is a step far. if we want an "equal fixture." You also never know what both teams have in the pipelines recruitment wise, Stars were 3rd last in 2023 with 5 wins (beat lalor and reservoir twice, kilmore once), Mernda 3rd last in 2022 with 7 wins (beat lalor 3 times, Reservoir twice, HW and kilmore once) and 3rd last with 4 wins in 2021 (beat lalor once and reservoir 3 teams).
