Can we stop comparing daicos to JHF. They are completely different players And I cringe at the north board and how immature it is fighting over which kid is better. It’s strange… both will be fantastic players.
Yes…but which one will be more fantastic ?

Total agreement JHF is a crash or burn type smash em up tank mid whereas Nick is a 'where the FCK did he go' type mid.

Merrett isn't a bad comparison.

Small in frame, zippy but not quick (and not explosive), precise by foot and hand, accumulator, inside and outside.

He's definitely not Gaj, Pendles, Cousins, etc. Gaz is far more explosive and powerful, Pendles very different, Cousins a better runner and more explosive.

Josh Kelly, Jack Macrae, Tim Kelly, Callum Mills all possible peers, with maybe Lachie Neale upside.

So could be Merrett but Better?

See, when you make these comparisons, you need to look at only their first years.

I remember Ablett Jr’s first year. He was more Dale Thomas than the Ablett we know today

Oh, I didn't read the article - I thought it was projecting possible full potential and comparing that to current players by style

I didn’t either to be honest lol

I just mean the player we see now probably isn’t going to be the same style of player 4 years from now. Along with that, his output has been a lot higher than the player David King compared him to in their first seasons

Daisy had an awesome first year!!!
Was on track to win the Brownlow in 2011 as well, until the Freo thugs went after him and he retaliated, because the umps weren't doing anything about it. Lyon got his players reved up before the game by publicly declaring that Daisy was the best player in the comp.

Daisy was never as good after Lyon said that

He was flying. I think the prospect of winning the Brownlow was spurring him on. But once he became ineligible and had his momentum broken, due to suspension, he lost his mojo.
