He's a gun, no doubt.I reckon you’re underrating Merrett. IMO he’s a gun player.
I like your optimism, in regards to Nicks potential, but it’s a fair comparison. In fact I made it very early last year.
He's a gun, no doubt.
But he doesn't hit the scoreboard and has no opposite foot. I don't think either of these descriptions will apply to Nick Daicos. So I guess if Zach Merrett could kick on his right foot and snag 20 goals a year, then maybe the comparison would work for me.
It's a hard comparison to find I think. Maybe Ben Cousins - but I think he'll be more incisive.
Could not agree more with your final sentence!I think it’s more his ability to work smartly into open positions and then link up in chains of play. Despite both not having elite burst, power or top line speed. Just elite footy IQ, vision, work rate and foot skills.
I don’t mind the smaller Pendles comparison that Cal Twomey first run with last year either.
Either way I don’t think we should take offence by a player comparison. (I’d take Pendles over Danger any day by the way)
Yep, and others compared to himWe'll know hes arrived when hes compared to no one
We'll know hes arrived when hes compared to no one
That's because No One is perfect. No one did have some big career highlights.
What does this mean for Peter Daicos...No one did have some big career highlights.
His brother some one was a starNo one did have some big career highlights.
Will always be compared to his dad. We'll know hes arrived when hes compared to no one
We'll know hes arrived when hes compared to no one
Is that a serious comparison for one of the best first year players in the last 20 years?Better Version of Brisbane Baily get Touches in the Midfield and Kick a Goal or a Few Pushing Forward

Yes that was insane. I was watching with my brother and we both just instantly turned and looked at each other in awe. Very Pendles-esque.That hand-pass he did in mid-air towards the end of the game was genuinely hard to comprehend. Freakish, freakish talent.
Nick is deceptively quick - like a sleeper custom car - doesn't look fast but don't give him a step. The one thing I took out of today, was the passage of play where he intercepted the ball and just exploded through traffic great speed exciting to watch. Of course our forward line dysfunctional as it is had no one leading at him where he could have hit someone lace out.
