Ricky Nixon on 3AW just stated that Freo has been hawking the young player around to other clubs behind his back despite him being re-signed to 2008 earlier this year.

According to Nixon he will do all in his power to get Dunnback to Victoria to quote " A decent club who will treat him fairly".

Also called Freo pathetic and decietful.

Looks as though Dunn may well be back at a Vic club in 2006.

Stay tuned.

Hay & Pick 22 for Dunn & Pick 10? That seems okay!

A good young player with plenty of talent but I can't see where he is going to fit into the Freo side. We already have too many midfielders who lack pace so it will be hard for him to break into our 22 so a trade might be in the best interest of both parties.

He's a top 10 pick with 2 years in the system who has struggled with minor injuries. What do people think Dunn is worth in regards to a draft pick? Pick 15?

Hay + pick 38 for Dunn + pick 26 + Gilmore.

I seem to recall there being doubts about Dunn's ability to find a role at AFL level even back when he was drafted. I guess that, coupled with uh..not finding a role at AFL level, might hurt his value.

No can do, we will be picking up Travis Tuck ( father and son) with that pick.

Serious Question: Is it that unusual to bring up a contracted players name to see what interest might come? I thought that would happen all the time?

Its unusual when its a player you signed earlier this year.

You wont be getting Dunn and our first pick unless we get Hay and pick 6. We will not trade off another first rounder after last year so don't even bring it up cos it wont happen.
No worries, send Josh Carr back our way, and you can forward our first round draft pick on to the Hawks.

I think it is a bit more than that.
As I understand it, he was being hawked around for a definate trade without first discussing it with him and after he had signed a new contract earlier in the year.

Simple solution, tell the boy he is being offered up for trade before it is done.

Agree. I would have thought that the coaching staff would have had in depth discussions with every player letting them know exactly where they stand, and also giving the player a chance to bring up any concerns.

If it's true (because by gee, it would be unusual for a player agent, particularly a slimeball like Nixon, to go around spreading bullsh*t stories), then it's pretty terrible behaviour. Nothing wrong with putting names up for trade and gauging interest from other clubs, but the player has a right to know about it.

And if we didn't sign him earlier this year? We would probably lose him for nothing if that was the case. He was a big Carlton supporter while growning up. Who has the first pick in the pre season draft?

I just love these player managers.NOT.......

Big noting themselves on radio and to the media at this time of year.

A joke really.

The same thing every darn year, the majority of the stuff is a load of old cobblers......

Ryley Dudd struggled to make an impact in the WAFL. There is a good reason why Freo are trying to trade him.

But that is not the point.
Who cares how he played.
If he is up for trade at least have the decency to tell HIM (assuming it is true, which it may not be as other posters have pointed out).

They have done no different to what Carlton did with Fevola, signed him up and then tried to trade him at a later date even though they knew they didn't want him.

Well I tried.

Anyone else want to give it a go?

Best of luck, but I think the lights are off

He knows, moron. They have knowledge they are trying to trade him, thats why they are upset. They always planned to trade him, they signed him up to ensure they got value. Same situation as Fevola but Ricky Nixon is trying to turn it into a sob story. Pathetic.
