A mates daughter recently said to me, Nth should get Daisy Pierce as coach next year, my instant response was i think she is going down media st, but we could do worse. After a bit of a think about the pro's and con's, i wouldn't mind if we asked the question after the Grand Final.

If Emma Kearney does her coaching levels, then I'd want her as our coach as soon as she feels ready.

Yeah we're not going to be getting Daisy Pearce. She just knocked back the head coaching role for Essendon, no doubt a bigger offer than we could've made.

North Melbourne were recently one of nine clubs to recieve the grant for the accelerated women's coaching program (meaning the men's team will soon have a female assistant coach). If that doesn't go to one of our currently AFLW listed players, then perhaps it'll be a former Darebin teammate of Pearce's in Lauren Arnell (if she doesn't get snapped up by Port first).

I'll tell ya's something.

Daisy Bateman will go somewhere. Taking the North hat off - she's up to her neck in everything. Media, charity and footy appearances etc.

She strikes me as taking every single task and opportunity offered to her.

Unlike some peers (AFL and AFLW) who will avoid extras they're not fully reimbursed for. She'll hardly be paid Joe Rogan fees to churn out Happy Dais. But she's still taking every chance to get in and do these things.

By the time her footy finishes she'll have built a really solid network and set of marketable skills IMO.

North Melbourne travel to Bill Lawry Oval, Westgarth on Saturday morning (10am) to play Darebin.

Game live on VFLW.TV (no commentary).

Celebre and Cowley Du Parquet are my favourites.
I was surprised to see Rob Burton listed as an emergency for Nth today.
Also, has Tara Slender been kidnapped by aliens?

But not exactly groundbreaking news, given Garner and Bruton's comments on the AFLW Instagram post last week.

A couple lines further down in the story is news to me though:
Expansion clubs are continuing their hunt for AFLW talent, with Hawthorn understood to be keen on Irish Roo Aileen Gilroy.
Again though, it's one thing for a club to be interested in a player...

The recent change to the social media accounts, which was made a week or two after the QF loss, is potentially interesting. They've gone from "@NorthAFLW" to "@NorthMelbourneW", while the bio/description has gone from "The official account of the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos" to "The official account of North Melbourne Women's football".

Perhaps it's just to better encompass the VFLW team but, if so, it could've been done a month earlier or three years ago or whenever. The deal with the Tasmanian govt for home games still has a year left on it. So it's curious timing, whatever the case.

Prespakis and Gee both leaving Carlton for Essendon. Something NQR at Princes Park, but bloody good start for the new team.
WOW I didn’t expect Maddy…
