Also how's this absolute pisser of an article from Wall's coach:

Meath set to lose Vikki Wall to Australia later this year

It's dreadful. She'll go alright but she's going for coin. They're training seven days a week in Australia, that's f’ed, why do you want that much training? You're not getting any better anyway, and when you come back you'll be shit, it's basically a holiday for the girls. But I'm not bitter hey

Makes you wonder why players are interested in leaving when their coach is actively in the media saying that anyone who wants a professional environment and more coaching is a spanner, and that anyone who leaves is looking for a nice year or two as a holiday, and when they come back they'll be washed up and crap at Gaelic

Eamonn Murrays
I think Eamonn Murray would liven up AFL press conferences. Imagine him responding to a crap Tom Browne question? Most AFL pressers are as boring as when a drunk relative at a wedding tells some tedious long-winded story whilst everyone just wishes it was over already.
I can understand him being cranky as the GAA clubs/county put years into developing players only to lose some as they enter their peak years to foreign sports. Imagine our response if JHF buggered off to play in the NHL?
Some of the players that come back have struggled to get back to their previous levels (Tommy Walsh?) but players like Conor Glass, Daniel Flynn and Conor McKenna have all done pretty well. I’d have more sympathy for the smaller counties if they lose players but Cork and Mayo etc are pretty well-stocked and can cope with losing one or two.
Hopefully both players come to North and obviously having Gilroy there to help them adjust to AFLW/life in Melbourne is a bonus.

What’s with the early starts? Having the VFLW game on at 9.30am isn’t exactly encouraging people to come along and watch. With the VFL game starting at 3.05pm it would be so much better if it was fixtured as a double-header. Hopefully there is some joined up thinking regarding fixtures in the future.

I can think of one reason why women's games and men's games can't be played as double headers at most venues.

Not enough change rooms/facilities?

Bingo.

They could really only play doubleheaders at the MCG or Docklands, and neither venue is appropriate for VFL and VFLW games obviously. At least at Arden St, there are change rooms for a visiting team and for umpires. Punt Rd forces visitors into a portable shed with no heating or air conditioning or running water. May as well be playing on a paddock in the middle of nowhere, it's so barbaric. I'm not sure if the next development that is currently underway at Arden St will offer enough facilities for 4 teams for double header games but hopefully that's the case.

End of the article adds this:
Brooke Brown is also set to stay at North Melbourne, despite interest from Gold Coast, while the versatile Tahlia Randall has also turned down offers from expansion sides and is set to recommit with the Kangaroos.

2-point VFLW win today against Williamstown. Still a chance of making finals with 2 rounds left, but % and fixture match-ups mean Collingwood will most likely hold onto 6th spot and keep us out.

Brittany Gibson had 16 disposals and kicked 3.3. Looks better on paper than in the flesh, not to rain on anybody's parade. Pretty wishful to think she's going to get her fitness up to anywhere near AFLW standard, but there have been worse gambles for the last spot on a list.

Tess Craven with 17 and a goal, continuing on with a string of consistent performances. Very important that she gets more top-level opportunity later in the year, otherwise a number of clubs will be all over her and we will regret it.

Amy Smith with 4 touches & 5 tackles, having managed 23 & 8 last week and 20 & 3 the week before. Seemed to be moving fine, just didn't get involved off half-back/wing much, at least partly due to the way the game played out in the wind.

Perri King with 3 disposals in her second game back (just the 5 last week, averaged 11 disposals and 9.5 tackles in her two games pre-injury). Went down hurt in the last minute of the match from a marking contest: initially looked to be bothered by her knee, then maybe an ankle reoccurrence, but she stayed on the field so possibly just cramp.

North has announced that Jess Duffin is leaving for an expansion club but didn’t say which one. Seems a fair move if she wants to play on, given she is unlikely to get much more opportunity in the seniors with us. She has been a good contributor over time so good luck to her.

Wow. Actual pace

Will her work permit allow her to play against Melbourne this weekend though?
Certainly has some wheels, and a bloody good step too. Surely if we gave her a chupa chup we’d be able to pass her off as someone on our list 🤣🤣🤔🤷‍♂️
