Agree we need a gun key forward

I think Randall better back that way wright can piss off

We can have Randall, ferguson and Brooke brown as our main backs

It is more than just a gun key forward, the way we move the ball forward even Carey wouldn't be able to get to any of those balls.

Randall missed a couple of easy shots but brisbane cut us up numerous times just running the ball from defensive 50 to inside 50.

With Randall kicking 0.3 and one out of bounds on the full and Emma King missing a gettable shot after the half time siren we should have won that game, but poor execution rather than a lack of talent cost us today. The girls have shown this year they can compete with the top teams.

Some of our younger, and more inexperienced players like O'Loughlin, O'Shea and Wall look more than capable while Gatt, Craven and Savarirayan have shown potential and will continue to improve with every game. Things are looking good for the future even if we don't have any success this season.

Abbatangelo has been a little frustrating this season, mixing lazy attempts at tackle or goal with some great moments, if she had kicked that goal late it would have easily won goal of season, it was a crazy attempt that hit the base of the goal post.

Do we have anywhere else to move Crocker? It is like we have adopted the Noble gameplan. We've wasted the talent of a handful of great players.
So we just played the best team in the league to a standstill, would have beaten them if we could hit a ****ing set shot, some key matchups came off excellently, and Crocker can’t coach? Give me a spell.

Finally home and settled enough to get on here. I’m feeling really positive. I’ve always felt we were a step behind the big three (four when Freo was up and about too), but while I’m disappointed we didn’t take our chances and win that one, it’s the first season I’ve really felt we can play in the same top bracket. To take that step and also be playing so many new players and young players is pretty awesome to see.

Plenty to praise but I’ll single out O’Shea. So good today.

Their defence was too good and ours was not as good today. Get them next time, though.

Felt like our defence held up pretty well tbh. They averaged 18 scoring shots a game before today and today’s 8 was their lowest for the season. They’re a good team.

I just think we lack any system, which is the hallmark of why our mens team is so uncompetitive. His saving grace is that we have a number of top tier player and yet we have one of the worst win/loss records of the top 4 or so good team against eachother, that isn't a coincidence.

Brisbane is a middle of the road team fortunate to have played mostly bottom teams. They beat Melbourne which was their crowning achievement so far but despite how bad we played, se should have still beaten them if concrete foot wasn't our full forward. It just highlights how much we underachieve, because we should be a lot better than Brisbane.

When you are under pressure it is not going to look pretty regardless, we scrapped okay. It is when you get it outside and are not under any pressure, our uncontested disposal isn't a lot better than our contested disposal. The decision making and execution is extremely poor.

Our defense isn't great, but we should be kicking 6-8 goals against a side like Brisbane in a game like this today, not 3. What system we once had under Gowans has been season by season degenerating into the kind of football our mens play, which isn't a good brand.

Brisbane is not a middle of the road team at all.

Also, before today Brisbane have conceded 7 (Freo), 5 (gws), 4 (GC), 7 (Mel), 8 (rich), and 3 (ess) scoring shots. Our 11 the most they’ve given up.

Next week vs Adelaide will be very interesting.

Absolutely. Smith on Conway and Riki on Hodder we’re two specific matchups that we were told about before the game. Apart from the first goal where Hodder beat Bresnehan on the lead she was a non-factor pretty much all day, and Riki provided plenty of rebound herself. Really impressive 7 games into her career.

I like Randall as a player and as a forward, but she’s missed her last 7 set shots on goal over the last two games. Most of these were pretty kickable for her. The positive take from this is that she’s getting shots on goal. Hopefully she gets over the yips and starts to be a regular goal threat.
