Batting India out of the game here.

Just bowl well and we should be nicely placed to go 2-1 up to sydney.

And then all we need it to do here in Sydney is just piss down next week like it always does the week of the test match.

I keep saying every year the only week it generally rains badly in Sydney in Summer is always when the SCG test is on. Other then that we are generally pretty clear when it comes to Rain for the most part.

Sydney to Hobart will probably mandate helmets next year.
I've been smacked in the head sailing tiny pacers with much lighter booms and it hurts, let alone on a 50-60 ft yacht.
You can duck below the boom all you want but downwind in heavy seas it swings like an axe and all it takes is a badly timed wave to knock your head into its path. Terrible

Nice run out by the Aussies to get rid of Jaiswal. Jaiswal is a real talent for sure but often becomes a bit too cocky for his own good.

This test is shaping up as a great contest between two very good sides.
Nowhere near as cocky as young Konstas.

There's some peripheral stuff with the Indian team that would raise questions if it was the Australian team or any other touring team. Like this morning with Virat looking like he was giving a major team talk before play and dressed in a different top to the rest of the players. Rohit sometimes doesn't really seem like he's the captain. I don't know if he has always been a bit tubby but it adds to the demeanor that he lets other things happen eg: Virat walking over and bumping Konstas yesterday. And there's Ashwin suddenly retiring. Who retires on an overseas tour halfway through a series.

Kholi is really hurting his legacy.

A lot of Indians have turned in him and he has definitely lost his gloss to most Aussie fans.

I think he is really pissed as he comes to the end of his career and Siraj is definitely not a good sounding board to have around.

Whatever is bothering him he coming off as really petty.

King Kholi has become vi Rat King 👑

It seemed like Virat should have backed up his partner. I think if he did he would have made it or blocked Cummins being able to throw directly.

Actually think it would’ve been a run out at the bowlers end if Kohli had run through. Only thing would’ve been if the throw was accurate.

The ball was straight at Cummins and there was never a run there. Reminds me of Klusener and Donald choking in the 1999 World Cup semi. Was a terrible call of yes.

Having said that, everything Kohli did was wrong as well other than decide there wasn’t a run there.

He was ball watching, then he just decided he wasn't coming.
He should have run since even though it was a bad call he wasn't in a position to judge that fact. You're supposed to trust the call. Then he decided he would cover his crime by just turning his back on him instead of calling no. Calling would be a tacit admission he wasn't doing what he should have been doing. He selfishness is delightfully child like and undiminished by nearly 20 years as a professional.

Sort of like a dashing Indian Geoff Boycott.

Looking at the crew lists the boats have too many inexperienced crew. This is a growing problem, a few on board with allot of experience and the rest with little, some paying for the ride. If you made the qualification tougher then the fleets would plummet at the lower end. The other problem is larger boats in less experienced hands - when sh it happens, it happens in an even more severe way.

Well the last 20 mins yesterday arvo just continue to show Test Cricket is the best Cricket.

T20 is for the deadshits that follow for 5 mins.

Test cricket is proper Cricket.

Jaiswal and Kohli cruising along then a run out and then chaos after that into stumps.

Whatever happened in the BBL last night will be forgotten in 2 days but the last 25 mins of the days play at the MCG will be remembered for years to come if it goes on to decide the series for Australia.

Was simply pointing out that Kohli got it right in terms of whether a run was there. Nothing else he did was right but IMO Jaiswal is more responsible for the run out than he was - all Kohli did was make the run out easy rather than needing a direct hit at the bowlers end. It would’ve been a 15-20m throw with all three stumps to aim for and I would’ve backed Cummins to execute.

In summary terrible cricket from both batters but everyone is blaming Kohli because of who it is.
