I have always been jacked off at Geelong mainly because we are their bitches most of the time, so I suppose it's me being more pissed off at our boys getting bent over and letting it happen instead of drawing a line in the sand... There is an element of jealously I admit but I have to admit they are a very professional outfit..

That being said, as the only Victorian team with a genuine home ground advantage, they have a massive leg up every year to make finals.

As I said before , they get 8-9 games every year down there which is a ridiculous and in my view biased advantage when compared to the rest of the VIC teams because not only do they get this , but they also get 6-7 other games in Melbourne where their fans can attend.

Their 9 games at Geelong is equivalent of us playing 9 games at Whitten Oval which none of the other Melbourne teams get.. When we play a home ground game at Marvel against another Melbourne team, it isn't the same kind of massive advantage as Geelongs home ground advantage.. Sorry... It just isn't..

Statistically they have made finals I think 70-80 % of the time since 2000, and Having games down there is a massive leg up over the other teams to make finals.

It will never happen but they should be forced to play all other Melbourne teams at the G or marvel, and they should only get their games at Geelong against interstate sides..

I’d be okay playing in Geelong each year if they tore up the turf and fixed the ****ing dimensions. It’s not only the longest ground, it’s the skinniest by a fair bit. Weird place to play footy even for amos. It’s a pretty ridiculous advantage

Geelong has always had very good defence and that defence is made even more effective by the shape of their ground. Their defenders have mastered how to shut down the opposition's attacks by well-practised positioning and team-work on the narrow KP ground. Perhaps that also contributes to their home ground advantage. To be fair though, their defence is pretty damn good anywhere.

Had a quick look at our fixture and we played 13 games in Melbourne (2 at the G, 11 at Marvel), 1 in Geelong and 2 in Ballarat. Weirdly we played the Collingwood at Marvel as an away game too. We didn't leave Victoria for the first 7 rounds either, our draw was soft for a grand finalist.

The problem is the AFL wanting gate revenue and hence they don't fixture any of the big clubs down in Geelong. The Cats would gladly host Collingwood or Richmond there, they make more money at a game on their dung heap than 80k people rocking up at the G. Its just pathetic by the AFL that they have Carlton play down their for example when they are bottom 4 but now they are on the rise its Blues/Cats at the G (not even Marvel but the freaking G).

Where in Geelong exactly?
shopping
look for plenty of these

This collective Geelong rant has taken a disturbing turn.

On the plus side, if Brad Scott gets the Bombers job, it will be another reason to despise both of them even more.

The fact this wasn’t escalated in anyway at the time, is astounding.

Clarkson, Newbold, Burt and Fagan…. see you later fellas.
Yep, you'd think so. Complete lack of governance from the looks of it. Apparently Newbold has even denied any knowledge of the emails which is unbelievable but you'd prefer to be the case rather than think such messages could just be ignored.

Certainly takes away the 'revenge' angle that certain Hawthorn, North and Brisbane fans are peddling too.

On a related note, it also beggers belief that whilst this is ongoing Fagan is having discussions with players such as Dunkley, including mention of the investigation with him. Simply shouldn't be anywhere near the club in any capacity and certainly not speaking openly about the issues.

Andrew’s a charmer , isn’t he? What a heartless campaigner.

How could you read that and say ‘sorry I can’t help you ‘

I used to grudgingly admire Hawthorn and their 3peat but now I look back and it feels like a ruthless machine won, not a footy team.

Thats a harrowing read. I hope that she was able to get the help that she cleared needed after the club orchestrated the removal of her partner from their home and then proceeded to wipe their hands and set her adrift. The cowardly and self serving nature of Newbolds final email as he sniffed the breeze of a potential scandal that he clearly wanted to keep away from the club and himself says it all really. Too bad all he did was cover himself in the brown and gold stink.

When we bemoan the lack of loyalty that players show towards a club. We need to understand that there are times when clubs treat their players like absolute chattel. This case is one of those times.

Everybody at 'the family club' who was involved in this scandal as well as the player manager needs to be loaded into a rocket and fired into the sun. Never to be heard of again.
