They have spent more time talking about the crowd in this game than they have spent talking about the Good Friday Appeal.

Looking forward to this stink of a match up for years to come.

Don’t care if we never play this fixture again, as long as North get belted in it every year I’ll be happy. Not once has the question been asked that maybe the crowds have been so poor because North sucks. Fake marquee game anyway.

Best crowd at Marvel since 2013? or something. Fair to say Carlton fans have justified the AFL giving Carlton the game.

Yeah I wonder how many free tickets Carltank gave out, just like last years free memberships.

Carlton have started the season well and the Roos have been showing improvement. It’s understandable that both sets of fans would be keen to attend. We didn’t/don’t have the fan base to prop up a cellar dweller year after year whose fans stay home knowing they are going to be thrashed.

So, as I said before, it’s clearly our fault 😞

The whole game is just a show piece for the AFL. All I have heard is crowd number this, crowd number that. Also can that really be true that Marvel hasn’t had more than 49k once the past 10 years?

When you think about it, we might have 50,000 members but how many attend games? 20,000 if we're lucky? And we get to play interstate teams, and smaller clubs whose members' attendance at games is similar to ours :(

For all the discussion about us losing Good Friday, it was never really ours to begin with. It's always been just a North match - unlike other so called "blockbusters" they never alternate the home team for this fixture.

It should have been us and North alternating as the home team each year and letting the game grow into a tradition, instead the AFL dicked around with different teams etc and you end up with the current contrived outcome of North and Carlton because they're both near the hospital, or something like that.

It's never going to be a big "blockbuster" though, but probably pretty important for North to hold onto given they'll soon be booted out of Tassie.

One only needs to look at the scheduling of he game in deference to a godawful charity broadcast to understand that the AFL dont actually care one way or the other about a Good Friday game.

Regardless of who plays in the revolving doors of opponents in search of finding some interest. The game just seems set up as a sop to stop Norf whining losing Friday night football because they think they invented the format. Like the game wasn't already headed in that direction as it shifted to a national fully professional league.

As a neutral, even on the dullest day of the year. I found it incredibly difficult to engage in a game that was on in the middle of the afternoon.

This hurts...

I’m a Young fan and have been quite vocal in how we ****ed this one, but AA calibre is definitely over the top at this stage. He’s ‘good’ with maybe just ‘very good’ potential, still has some severe weaknesses in his game he’ll likely never improve on.

Hang on now. It’s not like King to engage in hyperbole. 😏

If they were playing a better team with better structure and pressure, there’s every chance one of his 5+ zero-pressure kicks that initially missed a teammate could have been converted into a turnover goal

He’s better than that. Since the bye last year he’s 2nd in the entire league for intercept possession, only behind Sam Taylor who was an AA.

Meanwhile all our key defenders today are 30+, Cordy is playing in the forward line for the Saints are Gardner is playing in the VFL.

Freo are an absolutely horrible side so far this year

Been an unexpected drop off. They don't much of an injury list, obviously Fyfe is out but he has missed more than he has played the last few years. Not sure why they've started so sluggish.

Are some players really unlucky with concussions? Poor McCartin has a shocking run with it. I can see some might be more prone to it when they get a head knock but to have it happen so often.....

It seems to be. Hopefully he is ok, must be so scary for himself and his family. Him coming back has been one of the feel good stories.

I'm no doctor but it does seem that once you've been concussed a couple of times, it seems easier to reoccur.

Some of the innocuous ways Will Pucovski has had in recent times seems to be more than just bad luck.
