Just watching a few highlights from the weekend and noticed who was the defensive midfielder lining up on De Goey at the centre bounce 10 seconds before he got free and kicked the goal that put them in front with a few minutes to go. Interesting. The kind of thing that can haunt a player.

Unless the player buries their head in the sand...like an ostrich.

Now that the season is done and dusted, I really hope the match review & tribunal processes get a massive overhaul before next year.

Cox fined $3k for Darcy Gardiner ducking and leading with his head, Cox unable to do a thing to avoid contact.

Zero, absolutely nothing, for Charlie Cameron sniping Howe well after he had kicked the ball and leaving him with 3 broken ribs. No genuine attempt to play the ball against a relatively defenceless player with no clear way to protect himself, yet it doesn’t even get a mention that it was looked at.

At least it’s been consistently bad.

Clown show was established when Pickett got 2 instead of 6 weeks in round 1 the scumbag.

The rationale for the Cox fine is probably to be seen to be doing something about concussions. It’s asking players to do whatever they can to avoid forceful contact with the head.

That’s ok. I can agree with that but the AFL has been notably erratic in the way it deals with these things.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the AFL or MRP takes frequent advice from anti litigation lawyers on these matters.

The rest of its decisions are the usual shitshow of inconsistency.

Yep so i was all in on Brisbane winning this years flag….because i had a multi with Bont Brownlow and Lions Flag (had one with us too but we shat the bed) but due to the outright rorting getting Neale up for the win, I think i have to say GO PIES
Update….it’s a ghost town up here.
utter devastatio. 4 teams across all sports losing GFs on the weekend by a combined 16pts
thank **** for the GC VFL team 😂😂😂

Suffer in your jocks QLD footy codes (only the Maroons are allowed to be good)

Has there been a club in the last 12 years that has lost more key defenders than the Crows?

Off the top of my head: Bock, Davis, Lever, Keath... Now another of their key defenders has requested a trade.

I feel like there have been more than the ones I have named above but I just can't think of any others.

There were strong suggestions on the ‘scandals and rumours ‘ board that the hamstring injury was a smokescreen & he was actually sitting out a drug strike .

Whether that was enforced by the club or AFL who knows . He didn’t look like he was ever carrying an injury.

It might be a Jake Stringer situation where the club are happy to get of him . He is a bloody good player if a bit of a ball butcher.

Some echoes of what has happened with us at Melbourne.

Repeatedly failing to meet expectations after a breakthrough flag win, now a major falling out with a seemingly unsackable star of the club.

Interestingly, pretty much every premiership side since the 90s has played in at least one other grand final within 5 years of winning. We were looking like being the exception and then 2021 happened.

Starting to think the wheels are falling off a bit at Melbourne. Will be interesting to see if they bounce back next year.

So sad. Maybe Oliver leaving will finally have them Freed from Desire.

Trying to look at objectively, if they got McKay from it then it might be a win-win, but they’re getting old at a rate of knots. He’s probably a minor upgrade on an in form Tom McDonald.

And if Gawn goes down they have massive issues.

Just quietly not enough being made of GWS not drafting Sheezel. Yes they need forwards but Cadman was nowhere near a Jamarra level prospect. Draft Sheezel and they may very well have won a flag.

Cadman looks like a bust to be honest, but I could very well be wrong as talls take time. He’s just shown less than any other KPF anywhere near rated in the last 10 years. I’d pick Ollie Lord before him a the moment if he had to take a random KPF.

I don’t see anything wrong with Sheezel being overlooked, it’s clear as day there was corruption with Daicos getting to #4 though.

He was daylight ahead of anyone and there’s no way he was legit looked over 3 times.

I’d take Cadman but would play him at CHB.

Considering they bid on Darcy and then took a mid, you reap what you sow.
