Can Georgiades be the number one forward, with nothing much else around him?

192cm - I would have thought he was very stoppable.
Hard to stop given his athletic prowess...surely you've seen his speed on the lead and his caability to stand on heads and pretty much a deadeye dick in front of goal.

Yeah, but you have multiple options of who you can defend him with - and without other key forwards to take defensive attention, he's going to have a lot of opposition focus on blocking his leads and muscling into his marking contests.

Come on, lets not turn him into something that he isn't. He's never going to be one of the most dominate big men in the AFL, he will be a really good solid forward for them - but I would not call him someone who has 'athletic prowess'.

I would so we'll have to agree to disagree I guess.

You mean like Modra was stoppage because he was only 1.88m...

It never mattered much how tall Modra was. It was the height of the shoulders he was standing on that made him the brilliant spectacle he was.
Hence my comment. ;)

Georgiades may not be Modra, but he is very athletic!

Anyone who doesn't recognise this, clearly hardly watches him play.

And sticky hands that would make Spider-Man proud.

"Georgiades may not be Modra", **** me that's an understatement.

He's good, absolutely. But as an undersized key forward who's an above average athlete, he's going to find it a bit tougher when he's the number one focus of a club's defensive attention.

He already was last for a fair bit of last year.
Did very well without Dixon in their side. 18 goals from 7 games.

Wonder if that means Warner has said no? No way they can afford both without giving up significant cattle.
Without knowing their salary cap situation, you wouldn't think they can afford both without shipping off a big name or at least a couple of very good players.

He thrived when being the #1 target last season when Dixon was out of thr way.

Why would next season be any different?

Imo, you significantly understate how good Georgiades is.

I remember having this discussion with Mostyn aka Mego Red etc re Georgiades who a lot of people rated very very highly including me off his Nationals as a skinny 17 year old where he showed off his excellent athleticism, prodigious leap, sticky hands and deadeye dick goal kicking. Didn't play a game in his draft year due to a serious quad injury but once he tested so well at the National Combine there was never any doubt he was going 1st round after recruiters saw that added to the obvious physical development to come.. I remember Mostyn questioning how he went that high at the time....pretty obvious now and astute drafting by the mob down the road. The comparison player at the time was Jack Gunston with better wheels, hops and X factor.

He's the same height as Taylor Walker
