Then what's good for the Goose ....is good for the Gander
Crows should insist on wanting to wear the state jumper in the Showdown if Port want to wear their prison bar jumper, the bigger the joke we make out of the situation, the more foolish Port will look. We dont care either way, Port do.

We are the team for all South Australians after all. :drunk:

Coniglio's form hasn't been at the level and instead of just demoting him, they've added two more "captains", one of them being Toby Greene. 🤦‍♂️

Imagine coming into the quarter time huddle and you've got 3 captain's saying 3 different things. Who do you listen to?

Why they persist with Cogs is a real mystery. Didn't seem at all to be any good as a Captain based on the Amazon documentary and he hasn't played good footy in a few years now.

I suspect it was promised to him as part of contract negotiations

I don't know much about making wikipedia edits. But does anyone know how we go about correcting the PAFC wikipedia page to seperate out the Port Magpies and Port Power?

They are two independent entities and I really think we owe it to the broader public to correct factual inaccuracies in this regard.

Hell we've even got that signed letter from Port Power itself making it very clear they are two seperate entities.

That letter needs to be regularly posted on here and passed down from one Crows generation to the next so Port Power always remember and never ever forget their heritage.

That is, established since 1997, the Year of the First Crows Premiership.

Not much point trying to edit it to include facts, they would only be removed. The page has been edited 8 times this month alone. (about 50 times since October)

"You try telling Sloaney he can't be captain"
If not Sloane who though, Doedee for mine needs to show he can stay on the park before I'd consider him, so on the score of durability he's a no at this point? Not one senior player really stands out to my eye for differing reasons. Laird just doesn't do it for me, Brodie Smith not really? I actually think Ben Keays possesses most of what you look for in a Captain?

I certainly don't think Keays would be the worst choice.

They are not anymore.

Power effectively took over the Magpies, made them their Reserves.

Like the Chinese company who took over MG.

Yes, the Power were the new entity. New Board, Constitution, Membership. Set up the same as us with the SANFL controlling them as an AFL Club branded "Port Adelaide Football Club".

But that is irrelevant to how they are set up now, and can lay legitimate claim to the history since 1870.

Like an MG dealership displaying a 1970s MGB, linking their current cheap Chinese throwaway cars to that proud heritage.

Look at this way, any time they huff and puff about history, remind them Ken Hinkley is about to make history. Breaking the AFL games record coached without making a GF.

That is what "Port Adelaide Football" has become.

This needs to be passed down from one Crows generation to the next.

Otherwise in years to come, Port will tell new supporters they existed since 1870, when it was in reality 1997, about ~ 6 years AFTER when the Crows were first formed and the first team from SA in the AFL in 1990.

In fact I suggest its always posted in this thread or at least on page 119 to show respect to Port.

I just noticed the bottom centre of that page...

They printed the truth on club stationary that contained the lie...
