Elaine:
Do you believe in God?

David Puddy:
Yeah...

Elaine:
Is it a problem for you that I'm not religious?

David Puddy:
No.

Elaine:
Why not?

David Puddy:
I'm not the one going to hell.

Port Adelaide is hopeful key forward Charlie Dixon won’t need surgery in a huge boost for the Power.
But livewire Orazio Fantasia is likely to go under the knife, but South Australia’s restrictions on elective surgery could delay his recovery.
Dixon tore ligaments in his left ankle earlier this month when he landed on a teammates foot in training.

The official pressure gauge ratings are out.

Hinkley is cooked. Since he has been there they have consistently chased the missing piece and they have consistently failed. With no additions to the list during the trade period they will end up having to blood kids this year as the hope for the premiership they so long pretended they could win will fall as far out of their hands as it has for Geelong. Couldn't happen to a more entitled club.

Paddy McCartin to Sydney
Good luck to Paddy - hopefully he's able to put his concussion dramas behind him, going on to have a successful career, and (more importantly) a good quality of life when his playing days are done.

Disagree. Port do just well enough to make the idea of sacking him a bit of a reach. They've peaked though the last couple years, and 2020 was really their shot and they blew it.

We need them to have a solid start to the season to give Ken the 8 (or so?) games to take the long-serving-coach-nil-premierships record; and then Port can fall in a heap.

Can they be worse without him? I mean what does he genuinely offer?
Probably depends on how Finlayson goes as they will need a bigger body target with Ladhams gone.

It is the silly season indeed. I get it - its fun to have a crack at Poort.

In the past two seasons only Tom Hawkins and Jack Riewoldt have kicked more goals than Charlie Dixon.

To put it in perspective of what he offers - In the past two seasons our top TWO leading goal kickers combined for a total of 90 goals. Dixon has 82 himself across those two years.

Put Dixon in our forward lines over the last couple seasons and see how many goals he would have kicked with our midfield kicking to him

I know our dear port fans like to give us grief over Tex's age but they are going to be in a far bigger world of hurt when Dixon is gone and Georgiardes leaves for WC
Not sure Port are worse off without Dixon. Finlayson's been pilloried on here but he's, at bare minimum, equally skilled as boofhead Dixon. What Port lose when Dixon goes is their 'spiritual' leader....Baahahaha.

Dixon is a player the opposition puts genuine defenders on. Finlayson is not. So I think they will be worse off

Dixon is terrible because he wouldn't have kicked as many goals if he played for us. Gotcha.
The point is Dixon's number of goals is helped massively by both the quantity and quality of balls coming towards him. You were trying to highlight that the number of goals he has kicked means he is a very good player. How do you think Dixon would go in a team that isn't as good as the Power?
