Nobody calls it gridiron. Ask any American if they are watching the gridiron game and they will not have any idea wtf you are on about.
And when I lived there - two decades before you did - that’s ALL I heard it called. . Let’s just agree to disagree? What? Why the f*** am I taking the L, ffs?
I am speaking of my experience when I lived in the US.
While I lived there, I heard zero Americans ever use the term "gridiron" for NFL.
I'm sure the majority knew the term but absolutely none used it.
I've only ever heard non-Americans use the term, because "football" is used to mean soccer or Aussie Rules where they come from.
Yeah but don't forget China changed the name of Aussie rules Footy to Olive Ball.Nobody in China calls it Chinese food they all just call it food over there.
If we do that, what will we spend the offseason arguing about? And when I lived there - two decades before you did - that’s ALL I heard it called. . Let’s just agree to disagree?
Story is paywalled but the Magic Round will be called Gather Round
Amnesiac Cassie Grant has a premonition that someone or something wants the family that's helping her recover dead. She investigates the secrets of the town they live in and uncovers darkness, both human and supernatural.
That is amazing. I guess we all live different lives and somehow he never heard the term. The point our banjo loving chum made was that no one had heard the term or knew what it was
Which is amazing really

Melbourne, Brisbane & Collingwood have added even more experience for their hunt for a flag.
Hawks experience has been gutted & likely in for a difficult year as easily most inexperienced list.
That is amazing. I guess we all live different lives and somehow he never heard the term.
Agree - Freo & Sydney still have plenty of upside.Fremantle looking good in the medium term i reckon
How much were we paying, for Betts to play for Carlton & Jenkins to play in Geelong's VFL side? Probably not much less than $750K between them.Ouch!
Hawks to cough up $750k for traded duo to play for rivals in 2023

I don't know why we agreed on Betts leaving. We wanted new blood but never received good compo for him. JJ was a cancer at the time. We should have called their bluff. We tear-up your contract and you can renegotiate with the other clubs if you want out. JJ extension deal was bad att.How much were we paying, for Betts to play for Carlton & Jenkins to play in Geelong's VFL side? Probably not much less than $750K between them.
Would have been nowhere near that. How much were we paying, for Betts to play for Carlton & Jenkins to play in Geelong's VFL side? Probably not much less than $750K between them.
$400K was Betts' original salary with the Crows. I'm pretty sure he was on more than that when he left.Would have been nowhere near that.
They were reported to be on 400k (Betts), 200k (Jenkins).
Very fair point.Yup.
Though the really amazing thing is projecting your singular experience and determinedly insisting, despite all evidence, that it was universal

Hawks traded Mitchell & #25 for Stephens & picks #41 & #50... which looks like a shit deal when paying a huge chunk of Mitchell's salary.Ouch!
