Why are sooky players' contracts so easy to break?

I'm done with players' contracts.They're farcical, unless there's a clause where it says a player can do as he *inggwell pleases, there needs to be significant compensation paid to the club from the player who chooses to break the contract.

Otherwise what's the point of having a contract?
