It was discussed during the week of having a draft lottery and probabilities of winning assigned according to where you finish on the table.

Although there is the potential for the Premier to get Pick 1.

Imagine if a team like the Pies won the flag and got Pick 1.

Kinda like the premiers getting pick 7 because they have so much cap space and can take a salary dump…

Or Brisbane getting number 1 pick after finishing top 4 due to F/S…

My initial reaction when I first heard about Kane's return turning into 119 Part 2

Are West Coast worse than us in 2020?

They need to delist every single one of Hurn, McGovern, Yeo, Shuey, NicNat and Gaff, even if they're contracted for next year. Probably Darling too - he might have a couple of years left if he's in a stronger team.

These guys are living off past glories like the Redbacks after the 1995/96 Sheffield Shield. Absolutely taking the piss with how unfit they are.

Going to be interesting how their rebuild pans out.

Yes, by a long way too. They have won 3 of their last 37 and have lost more by 100 than they have had wins. Average losing margin over 50 points.

Do you trust the AFL to conduct a fair lottery?

8 of their 9 losses have been by 40+ points - 2 of them greater than 100 points and another 2 greater than 60 points.

The only close loss was to another basket case in North Melbourne by 5 points.

Are they worse than us in 2020? Yes.

You don’t look at one stat in isolation.

We are 7th overall for total tackles.

So what does it all mean?
It means we play a contested tackling game every week that we lose

Weren't we first for tackles last year and still sucked?
An effective tackle stat would be more useful.

Tackles that create a turnover or stoppage.

Daresay we would be near the top of any broken tackle stat. A tackle where the opposition maintains possession.

The raw tackle stat is just a sign of effort.

Fun Facts with Grotto

Crows were ranked 1st in tackles in 2022.

To put it into perspective, Cats were ranked 7th and Sydney 16th

Berry was probably enough to push our tackles numbers onto the positive side of the ledger last year

Must admit Saturday looked like a regression though, not Berry, most of the team

We're watching Gerard Butler's latest action movie "Plane".

The number of the ill-fated flight?

119. :)
Bloody amazing how 119, such a "random" 3 digit number can be found all over the place.

The gift that keeps giving.:thumbsu:

Fun Facts with Grotto

After the H&A season, Berry and Laird were 1st and 2nd respectively in the tackle count for all players.

Wasnt it alleged that JHF did the opposite? He said he wanted to go to North, but in fact didnt want to go, however the Crows was not an option for him either?
The AFL could put a stop to it all in an instant..

By simply allowing clubs to trade players without their consent.

So if Reid ends up at West Coast and then tries to get a trade home in the first couple of years then West Coast can say “sure, we’ll trade you and you’ll be going to the highest bidder no matter what state that club is in..”

Then if he tries to get traded from that next club they can do the same.. highest bidder.

It would instantly put a stop to these players not only demanding they be traded, but also traded to the club of their choice.

I get a very strong feeling JHF had absolutely no intention of staying at north for longer than his first two years and he, his step father and Port were all onboard with that from before he was drafted..

Then he got even cheekier with it and asked at the end of his first year..

No doubt its gonna encourage other young players to do it in the future now one player has gotten away with it..

Fine in principle but then the pre-draft doctors notes will skyrocket
