The Victorian media, and it seems the club itself, were deluding themselves when they thought Richmond could challenge for the flag this year. Adding a couple of good recruits when their other critical premiership players like Cotchin, Riewoldt and Martin are past it, was never going to get them from losing EF quality to flag quality.
