Doctors asked Allir what his surname was, and was then given the all-clear.
And he told all 15 of the club doctors he was currently seeing that christmas pudding tasted nice in the fridge and they went yep you are totally fine...and turned him around and pushed him back in the general direction of half back

I think this will be dealt with behind closed doors for legal reasons. The AFL will make it go away and then in the off season a call will be made and the Port Doctor will be moved on.
AFL House leaks like a sieve. Caro will have the truth by the Thurdsay phone call to 5AA.

They are better off being strong and dealing out penalties so this never happens again.

However, I fear you may be correct.

Whatever happens now I think we will have an independent Dr as part of these calls from next year

At minimum 1 in the arc to review all footage to check if a player should be properly tested

They won't pump us. We are every chance to pump them. You've been poisoned by the hate brigade.

And it is always the week to be laughing at Port when they lose. Always.
Just re-posting this because I can, and well, because I was right 😂

I doubt they even did a concussion test or if they did Sunday morning they will hide it under doctor patient confidentiality. Port are a genuine scum club.

The AFL cant just rule a test should have occured. Port must get punished. Its a reoccurring history with Port that no other club has even done once, yet Port have had 4 to 5 players over time magically act like concussion isnt a thing. The sheer fact they didnt do the test on Aliir is enough to rule him out for the week and suspend the Dr. He is either arrogant enough to ignore the AFL directives or he is following instructions from the coaching staff to manipulate the situation against the players interests. The AFL have to investigate this as its history repeating. I'd even go so far as Port should be draft sanctioned. Its inexcusable.
From reading the port board apparently burgess was told if he wanted to come back to them hinkley had the final say over who plays. So he told them no and came to us. Staggering if true

Quite a few on the PA board taking it seriously. As usual a few taking the clubs stance as well.
Kudos to the ones who are criticising port. Take that it's port out of the equation, it's a disgraceful mismanagement of player welfare at best. I saw jay schultz have a go at them about it even. Poor bloke knows better than most about the issue. If there is no consequence it says everything about how serious the AFL is about this issue

If the doctor saw the vision, and determined that no concussion test was required, he must have determined:

(a) Neither player lost consciousness at all (as this would require immediate withdrawal from the game, and entering concussion protocols - subbed off.

and also determined that NONE of the below were apparent:

b. Requires immediate removal from play for further assessment (including SCAT5)

10. Lying motionless (for > 2 seconds)
11. Possible no protective action in fall to ground
12. Possible impact seizure or tonic posturing
13. Possible motor incoordination
14. Possible dazed, blank/vacant stare
15. Possible behaviour change atypical of the player
16. Any clinical impression or uncertainty from the club doctor that the player is not quite right following trauma

re: 11 - this is "it's possible that the player didn't protect themselves in the fall", if it's definite that this has happened, that is withdrawal from the game immediately, like (a) above.
By my count they both had a) and 4 or 5 from b)

Not only Schulz , but also Sam Skinner who played a few games with the pear .

I presume it's to smooth out his contract but I am surprised Port would give Dixon two more years.
And apparently they might be double down with Esava and Grundy according to some of the posters so they are likely to resign him, seem like Hinkley has found another 2 missing puzzles which he started 10 years and still hasn't finish.

To be fair to them this is also true on socials. Vast majority seem to accept that what they did is wrong. Many also pointing out it's not the first time.

Murmur went round the ground when Alliir came back on, no one could believe it. Port people near me thought it was disgusting treatment of their player

That's because everyone at the ground no Matter who they supported had eyes and could see both players were knocked out on impact.

How the Port doctor didn't think the scat5 thing was necessary is unbelievable

He may not have concussion but that’s not even the point
This is what Ken seems to want to argue.

He very well might not have been concussed. He was just as useless after the head bump as he was before. But you're exactly right, that's not the point. The point is he wasn't assessed. Port just keep trying to twist their words to get around that most pertinent point.

Their whole defence is "Can't be concussed if you don't fail the test."
"But he didn't do the test."
"Correct, he never failed the test."

It's interesting that former Power players (and concussion sufferers) Schultz and Skinner are some of the more vocal critics. Skinner nailed it when he said that they will claim 'delayed concussion' during the week to get around it. Almost as though he knows what goes on there....

I've seen plenty of crows players knocked out like that over the years. As soon as you see them ragdoll onto the ground like that, you know they are out of the match. Even back in the 90s.
