The fun in it all is watching the most cultish of Port fans as they slowly realise that the 'embrace our heritage' and Prison bars carry on was the marketing gimmick.
They call us a "franchise"....meh.

Yet everything about Port has a highly manufactured plastic feel about it.

The umpiring in the port game was us vs pies (2nd time) or dees or gc (the first one) level. They were screwed. May not have changed the result but certainly made sure port weren't winning the easy way
There really weren't that many calls that were blatantly wrong. Not on the level of the Crows v Pies games, whether its the Fogarty hit or Johnson hold in our home game, or the Dawson high hit in the MCG game.

The Rozee one was a throw and its about time he started getting pinged for it.

Luke Shuey just announced he's retiring.

Our game against them is going to be a bit of a retirement party.

I'm sure us and Port would have a LOT of success with that.

"Hey umps, we got a bit reamed on the weekend, any chance you can hop on a plane to Adelaide and run us through some interpretations?"
"lol"

I love that guys like Bucks (who I usually really like) see no irony in their big Vic clubs being able to just invite the umps over as if it's something that's there as an option for all clubs to do and we're the fools for not doing it.
Fairly sure Adelaide have had the umpires attend training for this very purpose on a few occasions in the past.

... Again. Last year it was Kennedy, this year Hurn and Schuey.

The problem with this is... if we (interstate teams) let them get away with shitty standards of umpiring, that will forever be the case for all of us. Need to call out this s**t.
Yes I wholeheartedly agree. I haven't studied any stats on Crows' free kicks for and against but I dare say we do pretty well at AO, and that vic clubs against non-vic clubs do well at the MCG. Umpires are human and for sure are swayed by a partisan one-sided crowd, not so much by a vic v vic crowd at the MCG because the wailing for frees is reasonably equally divided. So in a GF, any non-vic team is always pushing uphill against the Vic teams, especially the fairytale vic teams - recently Richmond, Bulldogs. God help any non-vic team if they come up against Carlton at the G in a final.

Not sure there's a practical solution.

Also, some AO games I get the feeling the umps intentionally go against the crowd, refusing to be forced into a decision, trying to not be home-team biased.

That, and I hope the umps keep it up against Port. I can't think of a more deserving cheating scum of an organisation to have the karma elephant sit on it.:)

Any links at WCE to us that the AFL can rope us in on for tanking?

Best comment on that thread:

I reckon Simpson wishes he was good enough to coach the team to kick 6/7 goals in a row and then let Essendon win. Especially with most of their scores coming from D50 chains. Deluxe confidence in their defenders to not accidentally allow Essendon to score, ruining the comeback.

As for our links to WCE - well, VB obvs.
