I guess if that's a bad goal kicking season, then if we can become more accurate we will be the highest scoring team in the league by some margin!
Assuming we can keep up the amount of shots on goals.
If we don't and we stay with our conversion, its not pretty.

I thought i saw a stat about the trend being bad. Have to admit if anyone asked I would have put us down for a bad goal kicking season.

I guess we remember the ones the burnt, like the loss to Collingwood
Up until the end of the season Tex was the most accurate forward in history relative to difficulty.

It was just when it was bad, it was real bad.

That's what I'm thinking. I still see Ranking running into an open goal v Collingwood abs missing.

I don't remember as clearly the great games where we kicked well.

Haha, it was used by posters to defend Nicks coaching “he can’t take the blame for players losing games with poor goal kicking”

The Maynard hit is an interesting one. Was clearly after a genuine attempt to spoil. But should that mean that your duty to a player who is exposed after kicking the ball should simply disappear?

No doubt he'll get off, but not sure it is so clear cut.

Given brayshaw moved to his right after the kick by about half a meter I’m not sure Maynard can be held responsible for that.
Had this not occurred they would have missed each other.
I’m not blaming Brayshaw it’s just something that happened.

Agreed. He braced for a bump and shouldered him in the head. If he could do that in mid-air, he could have done something to avoid it.

Prison bars for PA anyone.
Makes no difference who the CEO/chairman of the AFL is..

Its ultimately not the AFL’s decision.. its Collingwoods and the AFL will/has to back Collingwoods wishes.

The agreement not to wear “the dumbfxxk bars” is between the powa and Collingwood and endorsed by the AFL..

If the AFL tried to change it without Collingwoods permisson it will end up in court with the AFL getting sued by the Pies..

And the Pies will never allow the powa the permission to wear the black and white stripes regularly.. just on certain occassions if they ask nicely and do the pies a favour here and there..

Time it went to court if Collingwood think they have a patent on black and white or even the prison bars.

The only reason it would go to court is if port tried to take it there.. and port would only take it to court if they thought they could win..

And they know they cannot, and never will be able to, win..

So they know if they do take it to court the only thing that it will result in is them paying all the court costs and legal fees for both them and the Pies..

They just need to get over it and accept that the one and only true owners of the black and white stripes in the AFL are the Pies.

Hope it happens. Sick of hearing about it tbh
Never.

Those **** ers have always got what they wanted since the beginning of time...when they formed(apparently).

Give them nothing.

They signed the contract that says they are not to wear the prison bars or black and white, or whatever the **** it was.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I wouldn't give them the wind outa my @r$e to cool their porridge.

I don't want them to wear them for no other reason than **** Port, but it might not be the worst thing since every time they've worn them in recent history they've had their pants pulled down.

No one does, I assume all supporters think their team is the most inaccurate, why is this bloke gifted games over that bloke, coaches have no idea, why don't they spend more time on goal kicking at training etc

Why couldn't we? There's no evidence to suggest we can't
The only significant variable is how long Tex can keep going at his current level of performance. At his age, we have no idea if he can last another 1 year, 3 years, or maybe even 5 years.

The other players in our forward line are all young, and if anything their output could be expected to improve rather than decrease.

Robbo thinks Maynard is ok with his hit on Brayshaw. I have to agree with the dr*nk this this time.

"In a thunderous opening spectacle, Maynard laid out Angus Brayshaw.
It was quick and it was flush. It was behind play. And it hurt the Melbourne playmaker.
But it wasn’t dirty. Mind you, try to convince Melbourne fans of that.

The MRO should find that Maynard was in the air and attempting to spoil, that he had his arms outstretched, that Brayshaw kicked the ball and momentum kept him moving forward, that Maynard braced to defend himself and, unlucky for Brayshaw, the collision happened and he took a hit to the head.

It wasn’t a bump. And it would be ridiculous to charge him with unduly rough play.
