Freo and GC failing badly this week almost rules them both out of finals. Sydney needed to win and not draw to be any chance, think they’re already done. It’s really only Geelong I think that could come in.

The thing I'm interested to see is Port's belief during the finals

Surely the players know deep down that Hinkley isn't good enough and they aren't good enough. They've played finals before and lost. If they are getting beaten, that doubt will start to creep in.

I don't get the same vibes with Collingwood or Melbourne. But I do with Brisbane.

We can absolutely beat anyone this year, that’s why next week is so critical. Keeps us with a shot of top 4 and almost solidifies a top 8 spot. Would really burn to miss out on finals this year knowing that our best can match with the best.

If we have another year when we beat the eventual premiers without making the eight, I'll spew.

We didn’t win last week but it only enhanced my belief we deserve to make finals. Essendon are far better than recent seasons, but so are we, it’ll be a tough matchup still though.

You go on a winning streak of 12 which will be 13 after next week and their becomes no pressure? Of course there does, it becomes about expectation.

The beauty of it all is if this streak continues and they have say a 19-4 or 20-3 regular season and don’t win the flag, then it has been wasted and the mental scarring after having 2020 and 2021 seasons will be huge. You get to positions like they are now, you have got to win it.

Lose, especially badly and even if we squeak in, playing a Final might not be so fun.

I doubt we will lose badly if we lose at all. Our worst result for the year was at the cow paddock out the back at Ballarat. Every other game we have been competitive and next week will be no different.

Our main issue is if a team restricts our scoring, I don’t see Essendon doing that.

They've been deep into finals, and have found a way to maximise the talent on their list.

The past is meaningless, other than giving them motivation.
