OMG The death of Carlton might have been highly exaggerated.

Imagine a call being made a quarter into a club's season ending up a little inaccurate. They'll probably still lose, but you have to laugh at the amount of credence posters put into mean8ngkess preseason games and not even a complete round 1 game. Which is iffy enough as a form predictor as it is.

I'm looking at the fixture ahead and half the stadium names have been changed. Stadium naming rights are stupid - they cheapen the venue's image and rip out a piece of its identity and soul, since they chop and change with the commercial winds.

Places are important in our lives, especially places that bring joy to generations of people watching sport. They need a firm identity that doesn't change.
