Can’t imagine there is any issue there.
Olsen was being interviewed by Kym Dillon last week about when he will be re-signed. Pretty sure it’s in the Nicks thread, Mutineer posted it. He said we were in discussions and we both wanted the same thing, ie for Nicks to stay, he was talking him up glowingly.

Dillon asked what the hold up was and Olsen said like all commercial/contractual there details to work through. Can only be money and length they have to agree on.

I think you're right.

I haven't heard anything from the club that would make you believe they aren't happy with what Nicks has done and what he looks like doing. It doesn't sound like they're being cautious.

I am right because it’s what he said and it’s not the first time we’ve said it. He’s clearly being re-signed early.

Did you see who the AFL's rising star recipient was...

Been a slow burn but the switch to half back has worked wonders where he can use that long accurate boot of his...

The RS nomination for a round with 8 teams is basically a participation award.

That being said, I thought Caleb Windsor was more impressive personally. Looked at home.

Weve made out like bandits for a future 2nd Rounder... :$ Macadam sounds cooked

Meh… at the time a f2 from Melbourne looked like a pick in the 30s. I’d rather McAdam than a pick in the 30s. With Rankine/Pedlar/Rachele potentially going into the midfield more a specialist mid sized forward is what we need.

Gollant?

McAdam is a decent player. Injury prone.

That suspension didn't help either.

It's likely only one of them who'll move into the midfield for any considerable time in the short term. At this point, it's getting decently unlikely either Rachele or Pedlar will make the switch until Dawson/Laird/Crouch winds down. It does seem for the next two years, we do have a 5 man rotation to settle on, with Rankine and Soligo picking up the extra minutes.

Despite that, that F2 is likely to be eaten up in a F/S bid if we retain it, which makes it hard to say it was a win as the dust is settling.

I reckon any time before the bye is too early!

I’d definitely like a few weeks into the season, circa round 8 to make sure everything is tracking

In terms of commercials to iron out, I’d imagine the dollars are fine and agreed but the other terms could be more contentious.

Terms such as triggers, terminations, exits, KPI’s and notice periods

Keep him on edge and it will keep him as focused as possible. Sign him up now and that takes a card off the table that we have to play if the performances are down on what we reasonably expect.

He’s not a player, I don’t think it’s a matter of keeping on edge for peak performance. I don’t think he can try harderer for longerer or that really applies to coaches

More he’s responsible for overall performance, cohesion, morale and scheme.

It’s easy to rebuild without expectation, the prosperity of having better players with the need to deliver is harder

That F2 is an asset. We could use it in a few ways, including as points for Walsh.

I think it wasn't a bad outcome, considering McAdam's age and the questions that surrounded him.

Fair enough, i suppose i was thinking its the fear of the unknown for him if he is ooc at years end and that leads to a focused attitude and attention to detail. But yep, its different than a player in that position
