Went to Mt Barker yesterday, then the Dogs v Cats.

It's a raging success.

Real festival atmosphere. Mt Barker felt like an Adelaide test match crossed with a music festival. The night match had such a fun atmosphere.

Norwood food and wine and Saints v Tigers today!
Mt Barker looked fantastic on TV. It will be hard to move it from there next year.

The VFL wont be able to replicate this in any other states for the aforementioned reasons previously.

They will not want to lose a good cash earner for them as well as promoting the game in a very positive manner.

What they may do is keep Gather Round in the future when our current contract ends, but partially trial another concept in another state.

Yup - exactly, already played their cards by having the new 'Opening round' up in NSW/QLD this year.

You can just feel the VFL will do something to bastardise this.

Couldnt agree more, I think its fine for the NSW and QLD to have the Opening Round if we get to keep Gather Round.

Gather Round in SA, the timing in terms of the fixture, makes Clubs a lot more friendlier to the concept with many games remaining for the year to worry about Finals being around the corner.

Jack Lukosius moved back into defence by Hardwick, yuck.

Come home to the Crows Jack.

Genuine party atmosphere at the footy tonight, never seen that before at an AFL game. Helped I was in the Pepsi Collective area, but still felt more like being at a club haha

The $10 tickets for game 2 helped with that. I reckon there were a lot of neutrals at the game last night.

The 10 minute Mexican wave (that didn’t stop despite a Bulldogs goal in that time) was probably a sign of that.

A rule that sort of bothers me over time.
That late kick from GC after the siren that is punched thru for a point. Should the point stand as it has come off another player after the siren. I can understand it being a point if it goes thru for a score untouched but being touched makes it sort of double jeopardy score.

Nah it’s gotta count imo.

I know this is stupid and I'm overthinking this but say everyone jumps up to punch the ball, and somehow an attacking team player in front of a pack does a bicycle kick and manages to get foot to ball (I already said this was stupid) and the ball goes through without being touched by anybody else. Goal or point or no score?

If touched after siren should be dead ball imo.
fair enough, to me it Just wouldn’t feel right.
If you’re good enough to get the ball and good enough to kick it far enough and the other team aren’t good enough to stop it, it should count imo.

Pretty sure that’s no score currently.
