Spot on. The ARC being able to make that call was a direct result of that incident last year.

The big difference is saying a racial slur to a player who is black and making a homophobic comment to someone who is straight. If it was an outwardly gay player I would agree 100%

But Walker didn't actually say it to the actual player either. It was said to Crouch (?) and was overheard by an AFC official.

He has a huge work rate. Has a shot in the forward 50 and next minute you see him defending in the back 50.

What happens on the field should stay on the field. He apologised after the match. Should be end of story if the player accepted it.
If the offended player wants to take it further fair enough. He was hurt by comment.
A TV stations microphone should not be what takes a story into a public forum and kangaroo court.
