I don't think Clarkson's slur and Finlayson's are equivalent, either.

Clarkson's should have been vastly higher in its punishment, but Finlayson's was probably the worst aggressive slur you could target to a gay man or woman.

I get frustrated how quickly people want to dismiss the comparison to Tex. I personally don't feel racist or homophobic slurs are any different from one another.

Also in the Walker case, his comment was ABOUT another person where the Clarkson and Finlayson comments were directly TO another person. Both are wrong but one of these examples has far less aggression involved.

Is it the same though? If it’s the pure equal of racism, as many believe, then you’re saying that calling a white person a derogatory term for a black person is equally as bad as directing it to a black person. That sounds idiotic to me.
