Lions looking extremely good right now, wouldn't want to be playing them any time soon, especially at the Gabba.

checks fixture

Part of me thinks lol Port. But another part of me thinks that Brisbane might belt us by 150 at the Gabba next Friday. 😬
Boy i hope so, beltings are a good fun hate watch

How's soft is straya, all the carry on about the port fans booing hinkley. Clubs are run by members and paid for by members they can boo whoever they bloody want.
Are Port fans racist?

So Dangerfield got off , what a joke when some media were calling for May to be handed a 1 match ban . May was rightly fined , but the whole tribunal is now a lucky dip .
So much wrong with the whole sport atm. It's a harder watch every season now. Rarely sit and watch other games anymore. Just too frustrated with the rules, umpiring, commentary and general lack of skills and character. Not to mention we have agendas and celebrations and causes shoved down our throats every week. Constant jumper switches, name changes etc. No wonder I'm leaning more and more towards other sports now. Go Storm!!

also the mish mash of draft rules and fixtures (opening round, byes all over the place, teams playing home games at the away teams venue and on and on it goes)

It really is a mess. I mean, one year Dogs get JUH for scraps at #1, then the next we can't have access to Mac Andrew unless he goes over pick 40 or something!? They make it up as they go along. The draft the fixture etc. They won't change anything while crowds are still flocking in unfortunately. But the game is a mess.

The Mac Andrew thing was just unlucky. They had to change the rules after JUH and we were unfortunate that we were the club most impacted the first year the new rules came in.

Just shows the AFL are just making it up as they go though, apparently they never considered there was a chance that one of those academy kids was going to be a top end player that could be picked up with a bunch of nothing picks. Given the rules often change on a weekly basis, I doubt the AFL thinks much beyond the next round

We've been unlucky a few times. I wonder if Mac Andrew was with the Collingwood Academy if they would have made the same decision? The whole academy/father son thing is such an easy fix. For starters the first round should be totally uncompromised. If a club has a gun kid they want, then they need to trade up to get him. It seems to me like clubs trade down to get as many points as possible with picks they were never going to use. Make them trade a player of be creative to get to a pick in the draft they feel they need to get them with. And if another club wants to take them with a higher pick, then so be it.

AFL is apparently dead set interested on bringing back SOO after seeing the crowd at the G for the NRL

Pretty easy really, drop the season to 17 rounds, play a month SOO carnival with 2 Divisions
DIV 1- VIC, SA, WA
DIV 2- NSW, QSLD, TAS or NT

Top team from DIV 2 gets promoted bottom of 1 gets relegated. 2 home games 2 away games each. Withdrawal from the squad without an injury makes you Ineligible for the Brownlow and AA honours.

I guess gather round has to stay in so it's 18 games plus 4 SOO games so still a 22 game season. If they are worried about money add a shit finals wild card round if they want even though I'd hate it.

Bring back the big V, since COVID I reckon state rivalries are back at an all time high
