Would anyone besides Kangas supporters actually be upset about North going the way of Fitzroy? Purges the league of another Vic club in a market already overloaded for teams, and if they use them as a top up for the Tassie team then all the better for the Devils when they arrive.

All jokes and poking aside, North really is a blight on the AFL.

This club is rotten and somehow getting worse.

There was a lot of commentary about us being so bad we're an integrity issue, but come on. North has been this bad for 4-5 years now with no end in sight.

12 wins out of their last 91, and seriously looking like they could go 0-23 this year.

What else does the AFL do to fix this club?

They're somehow devoid of talent, despite being force-fed top-end picks year after year after year.

If they somehow do manage to retain talent to their mid-20's, they're chomping at the bit to offload them as FA's to scrape out some more picks - which they inevitably use on medium-height midfielders or half-forwards.

They also have one of the highest-paid coaches in the league who's probably going to be suspended at some point for misdemeanors.

Is there a world where the AFL take the licence off them in 2028? They could let the new Tassie team take any 10 of the players currently listed by North, and trade off the rest for picks/players.

It would fast-track the building of the new club without rotting the rest of the comp.

PS. If you're a Brisbane fan looking for another club to deathride, I'd suggest you have some good fodda over on the Norf board.

The biggest problem with everything in your post is this is not news, it's been going on for far too long and the league/media just cruise along with it.

Meanwhile we stink it up for a couple of seasons and suddenly we're an integrity issue.

I both love and hate this sport so much.

Absolutely they should fold Norf in time for Tassie to come in. Every listed Norf player becomes a free agent with the Devils getting first dibs on any of them, then the ones that Tassie don't want go into a pool for any other club to sign.

I'm genuinely surprised they're not going to Canberra. Would be good for the club and the league.

They won't go winless.

But if they spud it up this year and next then serious questions should be asked as to whether the AFL should just move North to Tasmania instead for the sake of fixture purposes and generally getting them to f*** off.

Nope.

They may scrape a win out of the blue like we did last year.
North have StK, Gc and Ess next 3

Winnable?

They'll go winless.
I'll make that call. Absolutely no chance against anyone this year.
They got smashed by 45 points against Hawthorn ffs.
They only way they get a win is if it's round 24 and the Hawks decide to forfeit.

They have a team full of mids and half forwards. Couldn't stop a score if they tried.

I must admit that I don't follow North that closely, but aside from Shiels (VFL as he returns from injury), this is their latest injury list:

Callum Coleman-JonesAchillesSeason
Kallan DawsonAnkle2-3 weeks
Wil DawsonShoulderTest
Eddie FordHipTest
Josh GoaterAchillesSeason
Cooper HarveySyndesmosis1 week
Griffin LogueKnee6-7 weeks

I only count perhaps two as first 22 (CCJ and Logue) - cannot really blame injuries for this either.

4 of those blokes would be a shot at playing KPD though. They'll look far better(I jest...) when Logue comes back and they have 2 mature KPDs.

Serious question but when was the last time North had a superstar/pit bum on seats type player? All I can think of is Carey, I just cannot remember them having any stars or household names clubs would want to poach off them the last 2 decades

Every other team has had plenty 😕

On top of that their players seem to regress when they go there

They won’t go 0-23, you would think (hope) that there is some improved form coming.

The VFL sure would hope that’s for sure. This is a problem they cannot afford.
I’m not hoping they improve whatsoever and I hope they go 0-23 this year and next year, their smug supporters deserve all of it after the off season antics about Reid and their assistance packages being all cocky and ripping into our club..

Hey I didn’t really say I hope either…

I’m still angry with the assistance they got last year. There better not be more coming.
