I’m pretty sure JHF’s step dad, Fabian Francis, is Indigenous. JHF added “Francis” to his name about 3 months before he was drafted to honour the close relationship he has with his step dad.

I won’t read in any more than that.
My exact first thought.

Personally think it shows pretty s**t character on JHF’s part. Highly doubt he ever lives up to his billing tbh.
Totally agree. Port shouldn’t pay two 1st for this guy. They will, but they shouldn’t.

North's board right now is delicious ... Wait until they figure out that the Clarko train is never going to arrive.

They seem to think they are going to get 3 top 15 picks for him still too 😂
The best part is they could of had that last year when he was JHF; Pick 1 Wonderkid, now he's JHF; a homesick sook who throws tanties on field at teammates and won't follow instructions from coaches.

Port should offer Pick 8 by itself and North should be grateful to accept that.

He's also recently discovered he has indigenous heritage himself.

I don’t really think it’s poor form by the guy. It’s exceptional circumstances with Norf - historically bad position in modern footy times and an incoming coach accused of egregious behaviour. Who wouldn’t want to get out?

With the Clarkson situation blowing up in their faces North simply do not know who their coach is going to be moving forwards.

It's no surprise that their players are looking for a way out.

There's not a lot of meat on the bones of their list but this level of instability is only going to invite more vultures to the carcass.

Might be time for Sonja to be drafting up a plan B ...

I think that the current situation should highlight how messed up it is when you hear AFL fans talk about these kids wanting to go and live where their families are. A few of you should pull your head in.
it’s such an odd one. No one complains if they go back to Ireland, Darwin, Cairns or Halls Gap, but if they want to go home to somewhere there’s an actual AFL team suddenly all hell breaks loose.

i know i'd struggle. im nearly 40 and i still don't think i'd take a job outside Vic cos of family.

It's why i don't agree with longer term contracts, unless the AFL starts to allow kids to nominate for a state to play in.

If JHF is drafted by any of the other 9 Victorian teams, there is no way he is going home this early, if at all.
he never struck me as a flight risk last year.
Have to wonder how bad North are atm.

CEO out, list team walked out, footy boss gone, senior coach status unknown.
Priority pick package quite underwhelming (Logue and Tucker as gimme's....gotta wonder on Tucker when Freo let him go as well as Acres)

what a shame :p

Yep. If a 20-year-old kid can ply his trade with parents, siblings and cousins around then why shouldn't that be his right?

"If you want to play AFL" crap is exactly what is at the basis of this situation. As well as the "he comes from a good family" crap.
