Nah if you want to get into a very well remunerated industry where you might have to live somewhere outside of your home city, deal with it or don’t play. Afl is literally the only sport that has this problem. Listen to Touk Miller talk about it and he has the right attitude that draftees should have. Be thankful to the club that gave you the opportunity, get some life experience and hell if you want to move back home after 8 years fair enough, but 1 or 2 years is a joke. Way too many precious mummies boys that can’t handle living in another state. If I was north I’d drive the hardest bargain for port and make them pay overs if they really want him this year.i know i'd struggle. im nearly 40 and i still don't think i'd take a job outside Vic cos of family.
It's why i don't agree with longer term contracts, unless the AFL starts to allow kids to nominate for a state to play in.
