As I predicted Carlton never do us favours. Were always winning this.

Jlo another missed finals on your watch. Hand it in mate you’re not senior coach material.

Watch us be no mathematical chance to make by next Sunday afternoon then we come out and win by 50. We are a weak club and need to change their culture from the cool nice dudes to a bunch of winners.

Why is everyone talking about it coming down to Carlton needing to lose to St Kilda? Bulldogs losing to GWS would also open the door unless I’m missing something?

Agree. Bulldogs are flaky as heck, and it's a neutral venue, even better. But sure, we'd prefer if we didn't have to rely on things out of our control.

I actually thought this West Coast side had hardened up a bit over the past 4-6 weeks, but this is about the most insipid performance by any team this year.

They’re not playing for this coach any more than the last one.

They heard that McQualter is applying for the gig and they like him better.

Oh well it’s a fitting send off for Gaffe.

Honestly though why should we attend? Just sends the message to the club that we accept the recent results
No it doesn't wake up to yourself.

The club will be ropeable missing and finals so it should.

It also doesn't mean they need to make 150 changes either.

We had 8 games decided by 13 pts or less and won 1, drew 1 and lost 6.

Only 3 games we lost by more then 13 pts and weren't in the game in the last 5 mins.

What's its done is Longmuir won't get an extension which was almost locked in 3 weeks ago.

Don't want to be an arseh*le but I called us missing the finals after we lost to the Hawks. That was an important game.
And I'm sure some called us missing the finals after we lost the Derby. Doesn't mean you were nostradamus at the time. Nothing about that loss indicated we were missing finals. We were getting back Pearce and Darcy the following week. The Essendon loss was the one game where you could predict with actual merit that we were going to miss.

Everything about the Derby loss indicated we’d miss finals. They brought heat around the contest and we wilted. We don’t stand up well to tackling pressure and don’t give it back in any reasonable measure.

It was pretty clear early on that we lack killer instinct. Apparently it’s “embarrassing” to point such a thing out

Embarrassing no. Ashamed? Yes. But ashamed in myself for believing again 😭

But yeah, my point was definitely based around the fact we lack ruthlessness. Proven time and time again this year.

Don't know how you fix that apart from buy them all puppies. Get them to name them, take of them, love them. And then after a month take the team into the forest and have them murder those said puppies. Nothing more ruthless than that.

I think it does!

By that logic every single team should be missing finals, because every single team has had a game like that this year.

The fact that no matter what this team does you're going to continue supporting them. That for all the talk, everyone here still accepts mediocrity or they would've jumped ship a long time ago.

All you can do as a supporter is make noise. Sure you could jump ship when the team sucks, then the next team could suck and you jump ship again? As a supporter you have no real power, except expressing your frustration online or at the game.

‘Accepting mediocrity’ is more about the club internally feeling accomplished after a mediocre season and not striving for better. A fan might be happy with being shit every year, it wouldn’t affect the team one iota.

Doesn't mean you were nostradamus at the time.
Fun fact: Nostradamus made thousands of predictions and the vast, overwhelming majority were totally wrong. Even the 'right' ones were always very vague, loose and open to interpretation.

It would be more accurate to call someone 'my wife' than Nostradamus. Way better at getting things right. Just ask her.
